Creepy unsolved/paranormal/strange events thread

The thing about those shows is that it's over dramatic and over exaggerates. The only type of ghost show I like to see now is Scariest places in America. It has a folklore aspect to it.

My place has been very strange this week starting Sunday night and I'm not sure what to make of it, but I'm trying to brush it off as coincidences. List of things that have occured:

  • Cold spots in my bedroom -- they feel signficantly cooler than other areas even when I turn off the A/C.
  • Weird tapping from inside my closet, which at first I thought was a neighbor upstairs or downstairs, but then a really loud tap happened that I know came from inside the closet.
  • Getting headaches when I go in my bedroom, and they go away as soon as I leave my bedroom.
  • Toilet seat slammed down, which has never happened.
  • My heart racing while I was laying down in bed, which could have been from being startled by the loud tap in the closet, but my heart raced all night (slept maybe 2 hours).
  • Something touched my foot. I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and something put a lot of pressure on the heel of right foot. This one really startled me, but I suppose it could have been a muscle spasm...or something like that.
  • Loud wailing sound from outside, sounded like a cat being assaulted, but it was very loud like it happened right outside my door around 11pm. I took a look and nothing there. The same exact sound happened in the morning around 6am, but this time it sounded like it was right outside my bedroom door to the patio (I'm on the second floor). Looked again and nothing there. Not impossible to actually be a cat in distress, but the sound was awful and really loud both times.

Could just be a string of coincidences and my imagination is running wild. I'm still a little uneasy about it all.

Do you have a gas line? Get a carbon monoxide detector.

While those symptoms easily explain all of your bullets, it could be something else. Saying "ghosts dun it" isn't going to keep you from dieing. Either your mentally ill or your intoxicated. Get help.

Re-read my post, I'm not just saying "ghosts dun it". You must have glossed over the part where I say it could just be coincidental and my imagination is getting the best of me (which I truly hope is what's going on). None of this shit has happened in the three years I've lived here, but I suppose I should be open to all possible causes.

Thing is I'm sitting in my bedroom now, no headaches, no cold spots, and my heart is gonig at a regular pace. But I'd rather be safe than sorry, I'll get a carbon monoxide detector tomorrow.

Thanks.

EDIT: Just read the entire Wikipedia entry and now I'm worried. Might go see if I can find a detector now. Thanks again.

EDIT2: I was so worried that I went to Wal-mart at 1:30 in the morning to get one. My new CO alarm has been plugged in for the last half hour (currently reading 0).

I'm sure if I wasn't drunk right now I'd be petrified to go to sleep... but im numb anyway and this shit is still pretty freaky.

I didn't intend for you to rush out like that. Sorry.

I'd recommend sleeping somewhere else in the house/APT and find a environmental toxin's expert and talk to a doctor. These sorts of things shouldn't remain paranormal, sounds like it's very negatively impacting your health.

Encounter in the Pilliga Region

I'm rather disturbed at this recording of a late-night call-in on a regional Australian overnight radio show. While there could be a completely rational explanation - such as some kind of latent PTSD explosion or drug-related psychosis given that it was 1978 - this sounds very earnest and I'm sitting here with chills.

If anyone knows those desolate roads and back country of Australia's inland, you'd be well-aware of just what a ripe place it is for strange occurrences.

This was absolutely terrifying! Wow....listen to the fear in his voice. Though I don't exactly understand what happened...he was grabbed and dragged somewhere with legs on the wall, then she let him go because his legs were too big?

Ectoplasm is stuff that allegedly oozes from ghosts or spirits and makes it possible for them to materialize and perform feats of telekinesis, such as lifting tables in the dark (the stuff was sometimes called teleplasmic mass).

In the heyday of séances—the 19th and early 20th centuries—ectoplasm oozed from various orifices of mediums (known as physical or materializing mediums). A bit of white material oozing from someone's mouth, ears, or nose was considered strong evidence for the afterlife by those who think spirits are not dwelling in Heaven or Hell or some other distant gated community but are floating around the earth trying to give us material hints of their existence.

I don't think it's paranormal but super weird and freaky. This was way back in 1996 or 1997. I was originally born in Mexico and lived there for 10 years, from birth til age 10, and been living in the US for double that. Still, 99% of my dreams take place in Mexico. Anyways, that's not the weird part.

So I was dreaming that I was visiting my Elementary school, in Mexico, in the middle of the night. As I was walking inside the class room a black figure started chasing me. I ran outside but fell to the ground. As it happens in most dreams, when you're trying to run away, you can't. Your legs just don't respond and can't even stand up. I was crawling as fast as I could but the black figure, looked just like death, was just about to jump on me. I start kicking at it and the figure starts swinging and slashing at me with a razor knife. As I am kicking one of those swings cuts one of my toes and I immediately wake up. My heart was beating really fast and I was just glad it was all a dream. As I turn a little I feel a tingly sensation coming from one of my toes. So I reach and scratch it. As I bring back my arm and rub my fingers it feels slippery and wet.....I get up and turn on the light and see that it's blood. I walk back to my bed, remove the covers and see a razor blade in my bed.

Before I went to bed I had been sowing some clothes of mine and was using the razor blade to cut the threads. I just thought that I may have left in on the bed before I went to bed so I just went back to sleep. I probably didn't, i remember putting everything back in a small box, but oh well. WHO KNOWS what really happened. Whether something did grab the knife and cut me or not, but dreaming having a toe cut by a black figure with a razor knife and waking up with a cut toe and a razor knife next to it, is very weird and freaky.

I read/heard somewhere that your mind sometimes incorporates things that are currently happening in real life into your dream. You left the razor in your bed, it actually cut you and your mind incorporated that into your dream. Similar things have happened to me before where a sound will be occurring in real life (TV left on, people walking upstairs, random noises from creaking house) and it will be heard, and used in a particular way, in my dream. I remember one time having a dream and part of it I was falling from a building. I woke up, and sure enough, I was slipping off the edge of my bed. The feeling of falling is what woke me up.

It's very interesting and from my experience the dream always seems to predict when the sound/falling off the side of the bed/whatever else will occur and will incorporate it perfectly into the dream so that it still makes sense with whatever was happening. Is it actually predicting the events? Probably not, but it certainly feels that way.

More like dream-time isn't relative to actual time itself. So the events may have already transpired and as you wake up you have the falling-feeling and wake up on the floor confused.

Anyone catch the Ghost Hunters episode a few years ago when they went to Eastern State Penitentiary? In one camera shot, this black mass appeared outside of a cell and morphed into a figure that ran away.

I was wondering if anyone had debunked it. So much of what GH says and does seems exaggerated but that footage gave me the creeps.

Don't now if this really fits here, it use to creep me out as a kid, now i find it funny.

So my grandmother considered herself a good Christian woman, she wasnt over religious, but she was charitable to causes, she was always cooking for the church or someones funeral. Anyway when they lived in the south a woman came to the door asking for money for her church, my grandmother donated. The woman would make several more appearances and my grandmother donated each time, enthused she was helping the church, till one day the woman came and my grandmother donated again. The woman said I just want to thank you for all you've done, thank you for all your donations to the church of satan :lol

Damn, dude. I'm pretty skeptical of ghosts, but all of those happening within a week would set me completely on edge...

I think shit failing out of the sky dead is a good reason to bump this thread.

I'm actually on a bit of a cryptozology kick at the moment, so no reason to just limit ourselves to the birds and fishes.

My printers been acting up, papers have been coming out blotched and unreadable, pretty lame. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I dreamed my father came and fixed it and left. This is the first time i tried the printer since that dream, printers working fine now. Its crazy, my fathers been dead since the 90s.

Was thinking about him earlier and almost got hysterical laughing. He once walked into a supermarker when they were having a free giveaway, you could get anything free you could grab. He came in with only like 13 secs left, now in 13 secs i like to think i could grab atleast 12 items, this guy manages to only get a big can of generic chocolate frosting.

I happen to know that the Ms. Pac Man machine was still changing hands until mid-2010 when someone must have either kept it or abandoned it somewhere. It hasn't been heard from for about 6-7 months, and it was popping up regularly before that.

I'll ask. Someone I know of on another forum claimed that he was going to go get it. I'll ask him if he ended up with it or if it was gone before he had a chance. It might take me a day or two to track him down.
