Seriously, at this point, will someone miss out if they stop buying western action games/RPGs anymore? The only thing that the west still have going for themselves are First Person Shooters and Real-Time Strategy games.

Western RPGs like baldur’s Gate 3, cyberpunk, the Witcher or Kingdome Come?

I don’t have any Asian made games in my current collection and I’m doing just fine. There’s a drop in quality from flagship RPG studios in America but they aren’t the be all and end all.

Is it me, or does the combat look like shit?

Was watching that duel between the MC and that knight in that town and it was really terrible. Like everybody was sliding on ice, crowds who were standing still moving around like hitboxes were interfering, the whole battle seemed awkward.

This is from the same studio as BDO, right? Maybe that's why it feels kinda meh to me. It's like they make very rough diamonds.

Plenty of good to great RPGs, or action RPGs from western developers these past few years:

Baldurs Gate 3
Rogue Trader
Wrath of the Righteous
God of War: Ragnarok
Solasta
Path of Exile 2
Phantom Liberty
Forbidden West
Hogwarts Legacy
Remnant 2
Diablo 4
Lords of the Fallen

And let’s not forget KCD2. There a ton of great Western games being made… just not by big publishers.

Also, most good strategy games are produced by Western Studios. Whether it’s 4x, Grand Strategy, war games and so on…

Edit: The one big issue I have seen from a lot of Chinese and Korean games that they are mostly action focused vs having good story and characters. There are some exceptions but they are fairly rare.
