I swear, the world saw Indiana Jones 4, and Rocky Balboa, and the rather delightful leads in both, and simply copied them without understanding what made those movies work: They were in on the joke.
The writers, crew, and actors of both, understood that many years had passed, and built movies around that — movies that acknowledged the leads had aged, and portrayed them in different ways.
Stuffing poor Carrie-Anne Moss in an outfit she wore in her thirties, on the other hand, isn’t just embarrassing, it ought to be considered outright cruelty. Accept that she’s aged, and portray her in an appropriate manner, in which there would be zero problem.
