CS update for next week

Funky Papa

FUNK-Y-PPA-4
We have one more week of releases coming to Steam before we close out 2005. Next week there will be two new player models, one for each team, released for Counter-Strike: Source. Early next year we'll be releasing a completely rebuilt version of cs_milita. There is also a fairly high chance we'll be releasing an update to Day of Defeat: Source next week, which will include a number of small changes.

Two player models and militia for next year?

Aftermath better be kickass.

I just can't believe how mindblowingly slow is Valve. It is crazy.

Whaaaaa?

Hmm, I wonder what that small, publisher independant company is working on...

Counter Strike: Source
Day of Defeat: Source
HalfLife 2: Aftermath

Those are all big ticket items. Aftermath is going to be huge, Counterstrike is ALREADY huge, Day of Defeat was recently released, and a video released last week shows how much work continues to go into THAT.

Not to mention the fact that Valve has to maintain and support the biggest online videogame content delivery system (Steam) which is a feat unto itself, as well as working on unanounced titles, which in all likleyhood include HalfLife 3 and Team Fortress: Source.

Coupled with the fact that I got CS:S and DOD:S, plus all other games Valve ever released, including HalfLife 2 for something stupid like $49.95 and continue to get new content for free is nothing short of awesome.

I wished more developers had the smarts that these guys do.

And furthermore, how many developers give us NEWS every week, let stand a small update. *cough* Infinity Ward / Activision -- DICE / EA *cough*

I disagree. CS Source is pretty much a remake, everything is already done. I can understand Valve finetesting the maps to hell to avoid exploits, but the wait for new player models is simply surreal.

Plus, given how much money they make via HL2 sales, engine/game licenses and Steam sales, you'd expect them to hire some new people.

Valve is good, but not exactly fast.

lol. I love CS, but who the fuck cares about player models?
Way too many people for whatever reason. The funny thing is they will all pick the same one as soon as they find out which oe blends in with the backgrounds the most. So it almost makes it a waste if you think about it.

btw i can't wait foir cs_militia.

People like me. A few points of camouflage are always a good thing, the artic avengers were great for snowy maps. Plus, CS is not a serious game so player models wont hurt it.

Edit: models are also good for spotting you pals when playing on public servers.
