CUP NOODLE XV

This is great. I actually used a picture of the CUP NOODLE
with behemoth meat as my chosen photo for the end of the game.
It was hilarious.

Oh man, if only this were also unlockable ingame somehow, like an end of game cheat or something. Cup Noodle Mode

This games in-game advertisement reminds me of the level of advertisement in Crazy Taxi.

I hope like later versions of Crazy Taxi, it's all eventually removed.

Blasphemy. All the newer ports of Crazi Taxi suck because the product placement is gone.

This is great haha

I remember being shocked at the sheer size and the amount of stuff they managed to cram into the Cup Noodles museum in Yokohama... it's impressive.
There's a noodle museum in Japan that's solely focused on one single brand? Of course that's a thing.

I wonder if they'll pull this with FFVIIR, as that's the next major FF release. I wonder if this is a continuing norm, or an attempt to salvage XV's likely long budget.

The Cup Noodles quest was perhaps the greatest example of how blatant product placement could be in a game. Half the lines Gladiolus was saying at the start were literally PR.

The Coleman camping gear was a nice touch.

I don't support instant noodles though. It's unhealthy and it's the palm oil shit.

The reason they of all people did this is sort of funny. The two companies are located close to each other in Japan and it takes around 3 minutes to walk between each.

They were probably living off the stuff near the end of production so probably said 'fuck it, you're gonna suffer with us'.

Gladiolus even makes you go on a quest to get some meat for his cup noodles. Then he goes on a clearly marketing speaking diatribe about how great it is. So odd. Not to mention the Coleman and AMEX product placements.

On a fantasy game.

They probably covered food costs so that the development team wouldn't starve to death, at the expense off needing to push the noodles hardcore.

The rest would've been mundane promotional partnerships.

It all makes sense now. I was beginning to think it was some in joke at the studio or something with how often cup noodles were being brought up.

Funniest thing is the reward you get for it. Sure, go save someone's life or fight a vicious daemon, get a few hundred XP.

Cup Noodles?

4000 XP

And they're 100 gil for the one thing so it is easy to buy a bunch, and among the easiest of the foods to make for camp.

Also, unless I'm not paying attention, when you're eating in the background during camp, only the Cup Noodles scenes have audio (noodle slurp).

They get you coming and going. Not that I mind all that much; it's been so long since I've seen a game go so far in on advertising something like that. Last time was the Burger King Xbox games, and I'll hear no guff about those jewels of perfection.

Why cup noodles in Japan have shrimp, meat and vegetables?

In here it only has noodles -.-
Yeah, I was surprised when I tried some from Japan. They actually have a lot more extra stuff in them. Cup noodles in Canada still have some extra stuff, but not nearly as much.

Cup noodles in Japan are more expensive though.

How come they go ahead and do stuff like this but leave a lot of much needed story cutscenes out?

Priorities seem out of wack

Wait there actually is a Cup Noodle museum in Japan? Is this like the Ben and Jerry's plant with the flavor graveyard or is it more of an actual museum?

I guess the product placement in FFXV doesn't bother me that much because I'm a fan of Sega's Yakuza series. And the stuff in FFXV is nothing compared to what you get in those games.
