I like cup of noodles because its a little easier to make, you don't have to keep watch. It also has the little veggies which I like. I also like the cup form. its easy for holding and for sipping. HOWEVER, I do not like the noodles as much as the noodles from top ramen. This is why Top Ramen wins in my book. the noodles are thicker and better. Also, I can do an egg drop with my Top Ramen, where I can't (or havent figured out how to) with a cup of noodles.

Winner: TOP RAMEN W/ EGG DROP!
Now if only I could have ramen noodles with an egg drop and the bits of chicken and veggies in a styrofoam cup, I'd be living the high life! :)

what do you prefer?

it's all circumstantial for me... I normally go for ramen when I'm at home, but between classes I like to hit the cup noodles vending machine, an amazingly convenient device for someone who has 15 minutes to eat lunch.

I'd prefer Top Ramen but I eat cup o' noodles more often because of the ease of preperation. You don't need to pull out a bowl or a pot to make the cup, just the microwave.

i can't stand those rubbery little chips of dehydrated meat or vegetable. i find the "shrimp" particularly suspicious. even if you dump them, you'll get little clinging flecks of carrot. make mine top ramen.

Top Ramen, like there's even a damned contest. Doesn't Cup of Noodles have corn in it? Who the hell puts *corn* in soup? Seriously.

Black people put corn in soup. Well I'm not sure if all black people do. The only ones I'm sure of are Jamaicans. And Top Ramen is better than Cup Noodles. BTW, anyone know where I can get some real ramen in New York?

Top Ramen.

I can't stand cup noodles actually. I don't know why. Something about the flavoring they give it, and all those soup in a cups.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.

Cubanb,

Is that a flavor you can find or is it old? I don't see it on their website. I remember they used to sell an Oriental Sesame as well that I liked but I never see it anymore.

Top Ramen definitely. Cheaper, and you get more. It's much easier to add in your own stuff with it as well. I actually went to Rite-Aid back when they had some on sale for like 12 for $1, and unfortunately for the register person, they had to scan everything one at a time, since their registers apparently don't have a quantity button. And here I am with three cases (72 packs). I guess the machine must have lagged, because despite her having scanned it 72 times, I only got charged for around 48. I still have a case and a half left to finish. This was nearly two years ago.

If you can find them, track down Indo Mee - Migoreng instant noodles. Dunno if they sell them in America, they're imported from Indonesia or Malaysia and they are the fucking best.

Add some pepper and maybe chilli flakes and you are all set like a mofo on heat.

you made her go through all that for $6?

Ehh? I could have done worse. They had a few dozen cases laying around, and I probably could have carried more if I wanted to. Gotta buy in bulk when it's on sale. :p

I've seen the stuff normally retail for 6-8 for $1. Over two years, is that $3-$6 that you could have saved that important?

Yep. It meant that I didn't have to get up and go to the store quite as often. That's quite a savings in transportation costs too.

in transporatation costs? Say you went to the local grocery store and bought 3 cases at 8 for a dollar, where they could have just rang up three things. No extra transportation there.

I've got to say though, the allure of 12 for a buch is quite powerful.

Hot and spicy. This is the best instant cup-noodle (although it's more like a bowl size, which is better for hungry men!!). ;)

OMG they sell these in the US? I have been looking for them in Canada since 2000 :(

Weird, I see them more often here (Toronto) than in the States. They're everywhere it seems.....way easier to find than Top Ramen.
