Interesting thing abxut the WMU game. Txledx is by far the best team they will play all seasxn, and WMU is cxming xff 6 days rest while Txledx has 8 days rest. I wxuld nxt be shxcked if Txledx pulls xff the upset here.

It's disgusting and yet entirely emblematic of why he failed here.

This program is a hot fucking mess.

It sounds like something I heard about Texas regarding Tom Herman. Supposedly, they wanted nothing to do with him after the SMU loss, but are now hot on him following the Louisville win. It's really fucking weird to flip-flop on your decisions based on a recent win instead of taking the whole thing into account. Is beating a so-so TCU team suddenly going to convince you over everything that's happened? Hell, over last week's loss?

Flip flopping and not looking like the big picture sounds exactly like something a program run by big-time boosters would do, actually. See USC.

And Texas fans had/have the delusion for years that Saban would leave Alabama for that mess?

Sheesh they need to reign it in. Mal Moore eventually figured out how to reign in the boosters, and Battle has done well too.

Texas is a school that recently had a clown as AD, Patterson was a mess and shouldn't have had that job. Perrin though is still without a permanent contract right? How the hell can that dude be expected to lead?

Texas is a mess. No football coach is gonna change that. They need top to bottom leadership.

Yup. Coach O had the job at USC until he lost to UCLA to end the season. Clay Helton wasn't 100% to get the job until they blew out UCLA to end the season.

Same thing happened to Coach O at LSU this year, if he beats Florida last week he's probably the full time head coach. But he loses and now they're not sure.

I got grudge sucked!

All of this is true. Also, I've never understood why the media thinks Texas is the be all end all job in college football. If you are already at a top tier program, its a lateral move at best, and given the booster and fan influence, it accompanies an even higher risk than the other jobs do. What does Nick Saban gain in leaving Alabama for Texas? But what about his wife, they say? Surely she'd rather be in Austin than Tuscaloosa, right?
Remember all those times the top tier alpha coach left the job where he built an empire because his wife wanted something a bit more cosmopolitan?

I don't either.

soooo, there are reports out there that Herman is going to LSU
Saw that but if it's true I feel like that's an indictment of the Texas program.

Little more true now probably.

@Mark_Schlabach: #LSU has zeroed in on Houston's Tom Herman after Jimbo Fisher elected to stayat FSU. Deal with Tigers not yet done, according to @ClowESPN

Ichigan going to continue being the Buckeye's bitches again this week. Will be glorious seeing them lose again after that embarrassing cupcake schedule of theirs.

Here's the bit on Herman I was talking about:

The lure of Herman, always considered Texas' No. 1 target, had dulled with Houston's losses to Navy and SMU and close wins against Tulsa and UCF. The SMU loss was extremely troubling to Texas' boosters because it was to a perceived "lesser school" in the state, sources said.

That all changed with Herman improving to 22-3 at Houston by dominating Louisville. After that win, the bidding war for Herman is expected to start "at a minimum of $5.5 million," an industry source said.

So Herman's star had dulled, but is shining like hell right now.
