Soulwax doing anything is amazing.

I'd really like Soulwax to tour with DP and only play shit off their Nite Versions album.

I remember in some thread a Homework fan said that Discovery was an EDM album for people who didn't like EDM. I laughed, because all I could think was that Homework was an EDM album for people who didn't like dancing.
What? Homework is amazing dancing music.

How can anyone dislike Homework? Da Funk, Around the world, revolution 909, pheonix, fresh, indo silver club, etc. So many good songs.

I bet you a dollar.
Done!
2 week ban bet: they will show up during Phoenix's set this year at coachella.

unrelated to bet: they will headline a night at next year's coachella.
Ooh, was about to take you on pre-edit. Oh what the hell...on anyway, for the fun of it!
I could see the Phoenix thing happening, but on the other hand, I don't think they'd repeat themselves like that.

I do think they'll be Coachella headliners next year though.

Haha deal!

I'm going to my sixth Coachella this year and I've gotta say that Phoenix is the weakest headliner of all time. If Daft isn't there I'll poop myself with disappointment.

The timing is too good. Surprise headline in Coachella for two weeks, release the first single to build hype for two more weeks, then BOOM - album hits on May 21st.

Welp. There I was browsing The Escapist wanting to check out videos, and suddenly when I was clicking play on a video, the RAM SNL ad plays as an advert before it.

Columbia and DP are really making a deal out of this. I'm glad.

The thing is, Human After All did leak, and months before the release date.

And when it did, people thought it was a fake because of how much different it was from the previous albums.

I think Daft Punk have this thing on a pretty tight lockdown, probably as a result of that.
I mean, we don't even know the track names yet.

hahahaha holy shit i had no idea the leak has spread out this far, the website and "leak" was done by my boyfriend and the bandwidth on his server skyrocketed

i'm so proud

Homework I get that old school early-mid 90s vibe. Like you know, electronic dance music is just now catching on. DP were just experimenting with sounds at the time, I think. And sampling. Lots and lots of distortion samples, 808s and drumloops. Da Funk, Around the World and Revolution 909 are some of the best tracks on there-groovy house music with awesome basslines, acid and progression on the dancefloor.

Discovery was their breakthrough album. One More Time being one of the most popular songs, and Interstella being played on Toonami pretty much all the time was a perfect fit for the teen generation (ages 16 and up) and for the late 90's crowd. Good house/dance music with catchy hooks and lyrics. I mean, if you didn't watch Toonami, there was no way in hell you haven't heard of Daft Punk. Anime music movie and all. Superheroes and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger are just a sample of my favorites. It's a classic.

Human After All was a let's try something new...within 6 months. To me they were going for a mix of radio and repetitive soundtrack movie feel (Human After All). Perhaps to have their stuff played in media such as Technologic being played in those silly iPod ads. Album was a mixture of good and bad, but the Human After All Remixes makes up for more of it. But once again, sounded like they were going for a mainstream robotic sound rather than their own original work as previously heard in Homework and Discovery.

I won't comment on Tron OST, since that's technically "not" a studio album, but everyone loves Derezzed (and I love the Ending Titles song for it's drums and progressive acid), so I'll just leave that one alone.

Daft Punk has made music a joy to listen to since I was 16, watching Toonami on late Saturday Nights. Random Access Memories is going to be great.

Man that's a hilarious troll. I'm going to do that with kanyes new album. Probably loop some drake or flo rida and upload it somewhere.

Someone on Twitter claimed that the album contains only one sample, and it's a track by The Sherbs.

I believe it, since Together (Thomas Bangalter and DJ Falcon) did some sampling of their track 'We Ride Tonight' during a live set in 2002.
It's probably the same track they'll be using in RAM, because, well, listen to it.
