Dark/light mode Neogaf feature request

Needless function. Why would someone ever have their device on light mode, unless they were some combination of the Grinch and Hannibal Lecter?

I don't like the dark mode too much. I usually use the light mode.
However, one criticism I have with the light mode, is, that its too bright, specifically the pure white portions of the light mode I find too bright.

Is there a cheat/hack so that I can see my notifications easily on mobile? I always have to rotate my display to horizontal to access/see notifications. When it's vertical, can't see anything. I always figured that since nobody else was complaining about it, there must be a setting or something I'm missing.

It would be great if the website matched the device setting and switched the theme automatically.

Funny enough I always used dark mode until I took antidepressants and all of a sudden I put everything in light mode, and stayed every since

Give me the number of your doctor and I'll help you get back to dark mode again. Depending on whether or not you use a bluelight filter too it might require antipsychotics for a little while.

The mobile site should show a condensed version of the site's header (hamburger menu, site logo, gaming / communities / off-topic logos, conversations icon, alert icon, and search icon) if your device can display at least 350 horizontal pixels. The notification bell shouldn't be hidden unless your device supports under 275 horizontal pixels. For reference, the iPhone 3 had a pixel width of 320, which was doubled to 640 when they released the iPhone 4. That means if you're not seeing your notifications on mobile, you either have an extremely old device, or your mobile browser (or phone) has font size, display scale, or zoom settings enabled that is causing it to not render the page as intended.

I'll mess around with the display scale stuff. It's probably got something to do with me using a foldable phone, and I typically only use the front screen for browsing during the day when I'm and about. When I open the phone for the big screen, I think it's using the desktop version of the site by default.
