Image is still downsized from 2560x1440.

I wish I could tell if something was going on or it's doing nothing. Based on earlier reports, I thought my game wouldn't even boot but it works just fine with overriding AA in via RP.

can you try the resolution change in windowed mode, then change it back to full screen?

No no matter what i do if i set the game option res at 1080 it will go to windowed mode, and then if i set full screen the only options i get are the 2 720p Options 16/32 bit, WTF!! (Edit: i can ONLY set it at 1080p with full screen off, When Full screen = Off i get all the regular resolution options....)

Can anyone else Confirm there is a 1080p option In game with full screen selected? before i download the whole thing again

Dude you sure :-/, i was just F'ing around with setting removed all of the fix files, and if i have it set to full screen i can only select 1280x720 16/32, if i go to the "Initialize" button it shows 1080p with Full screen off to the right as defaults and when i click it goes back to windowed?

if this is the case im gonna try download everything again because there's obviously something up with my game

Also if i try running the Fix at 2560x1440 and the game at the 720p 32 option the video is only in like 1/4 of my screen? :(

You could use a utility that lets you do fullscreen windowed mode. That's what I do. You get the alt-tabbing advantages of windowed mode and it fills the entire screen.

This is what I use.

Just wondering guys, do all copies of the PC version require steam AND GFWL? I'd give anything if It didn't require all this crap...

BTW, the game launches and then crashes on me with the usual win7 crash screen. currently trying to figure it out :(

Closing afturburner solved that issue for me bro,

Edit: although from what you just stated, Sounds like u have chosen less legitimate means of acquiring the game, i do not approve.

Closing afturburner solved that issue for me bro,

I thought it did for me too but the games going to do what it's going to do. It was giving me some fits earlier but it's been actually smooth most of the time now. Still an odd drop here and there though.

So I noticed that, while I get 30 FPS solid with vanilla, even if I just go with 720p in Durante's ini file, I only get 15 FPS. Same resolution as vanilla, half the framerate.

Any ideas? This kind of sucks having to play vanilla to get 30 FPS. I have decent computer. Hrm. Would love to play at 1080p.

If you have an ATI card, you have to turn all your AA, etc. settings up in Catalyst Control. Turn off all the options for "Use Application Settings". I repeat...turn all your settings up to the max to get solid framerates.

Sorry, but the only Afterburner I know is the awesome Sega game lol. Is it a process? I swear I'm not computer illiterate. This game has me feeling like a moron.

MSI Afterburner, it's a GPU overclocking utility. Afterburner itself isn't the issue, its the OSD app which becomes active if you map a key for recording video. You can run Afterburner without OSD if you disable the video record hot key.

Afterburner = MSI afturburner, You wont have it if u don't even know what it is, Unless its not your pc,

Also try closing any programs/utilities that have on screen displays, (possibly even any that have the option to aswell)

Alright well im downloading the game again, So according to you guys, it is possible to set the Video options to 1080p WITH full screen enabled? Cause i most certainly did not have this option.....

Edit: sry didnt realise i had last post :-/

Have a superclocked gtx460, and an i7 at 3.7ghz. Running at 1920x1080 native, (with the glorius patch). The game never leaves 30fps! Good news!

Game looks amazing!

Confirmed: Even Blightown runs at 30fps, (even down at swamp level).

The game must just be cpu dependant, as my 460 isn't anything that special.

Sorry to ask my question again but im not getting an answer >.<, Do you have the Resolution @ 1080p AND FULL SCREEN mode in DS video options?

and to ask even more of you(Or anyone else) could i get an SS of the menu with these options enabled and activated, (so i can start harrasing Valve/from/GMG) :D

Sorry to ask this question since it has been asked a bit before. I run the resolution of 2560x1600 so what would be a good resolution past that for the .ini for downsampling? First time messing with this since most newer games already push my card at the resolution.

Yes, fullscreen 1920x1080 32bit. AA and motion blur turned off.

Wow, ok i dunno why the F i couldnt select 1080p with full screen, im just looking at Ss's of it now on google images, (and shitting bricks)**NVM it wasn't :cries: gonna head out to shops and hopefully when i get back and its Dl'd again its working :-/

Say you're forced to run in 1024x768 anyway... would this fix help you make the most of AA and generally improve framerate?

Maybe a dumb question, but the majority of you guys seem to be running on beast machines anyway. Just wondering what's in store for the more humble rigs out there.

So whats the minimum specs to run this smoothly (locked 30 fps) through blighttown at 1080p? Will my I7-620m and 5770 manage this?

I have an i7 950 at 3.7ghz and a palit superclocked gtx460 and it runs 30fps at 1080p all over Blightown. (not sure if 3.7ghz is still considered good. And it's a Sandy Bridge, not the new Ivy Bridge).

I'm cancelling my Dead or Alive 5 pre-order tomorrow and putting the money down on a steam card. I'm going back to Dark Souls and I'm never coming back.

Probably not, largely because in-game AA breaks the fix. That said, there are reports of improved frame-rate with the fix, so your mileage may vary, although you certainly won't see any downscaling-from-4k shenanigans outside of beastly machines.

so does this work with GFWL?

I haven't anything that says otherwise.

Come on, if you beat Dark Souls then you know how to beat the system. Somebody's got smack Artorias around while the new players get stuck in Blighttown.

I was worried that any cheat protection might have a problem with this, but so many of the current users must be using this that it would be foolish to do any banning or whatever.

So I am assuming that a side effect of the patch is that you are unable to read messages, correct? All of mine are blank. As a first time player, this is a problem.

It's outselling Counterstrike: GO and is in the top 10 played games on Steam. I think sales are probably pretty good.

Yeah that's what I was thinking:

Except it isn't really outselling CS:GO. It's just ranked higher as, from what I remember top sellers works based on how much money it was making, rather than each digital copy sold.

So a game priced $15 would need a greater amount of buyers to be ranked higher, versus one priced at $39.99 or higher.

Sales aren't as good as you think. The game is essentially a bust on PC.

On another note, concerning the amount sold. While yes 8,500 is peak and it shouldn't represent the amount of players played today it still isn't that great.

I guess From will not be bringing anymore products to PC. Oh well, at least this will show them and others either bring something that wasn't half-assed or don't bring anything at all.

There are also retail copies that are not on Steam.
