Darkstalkers PSP Wireless play is a first.

Yes, the first time ive played a fighting game over a wireless or internet/work connection without any noticable lag!

Why this game is getting so underrated is beyond my understanding! Sure, its another darkstalkers thread, but fuck the haters.

Youre getting a top class fighting game with all the animation, sounds, awesome network play (at least ad hoc is haha) and unlockable art and a cool survival mode.

COME ON! Its three games in one! Sorry its not new poo poo but sometimes the classics never die.

Me: "I have pretty much zero interest in the PSP."

Capcom: "3rd Strike coming to PSP soon."

Me: "1 PSP please."
Seriously? I'd be all over that.

If you want better controls, play fighting games on your home console with a custom-built arcade stick.

If you want portability instead, GET THE PSP VERSION.

Thank you.

Darkstalkers is my favorite PSP title so far, and I'm not even a fighting-game fan. Developers have been trying to make this game on Nintendo's handhelds forever, and the very first effort on the new Sony machine nailed it. Acclaim, Midway, etc. should feel mighty sorry for themselves.

The D-Pad was excellent for Darkstalkers PSP. I was pulling off combos from there with no trouble. The texture of the D-Pad also made my thumb less sore. The only problem is that it just wasn't appealing enough for me to play. There's a lot better out there for the PSP.

i would agree, but i seriously hate the PS layout for 2D fighters, especially six-button fighters. i've never liked the d-pad, and it lacks the six button layout for games like Third Strike. If i had someone to play against, it might be worth it.

Is there an infrastructure mode, or only ad hoc? If I can play this against anyone on the net with a copy I am going to the game store right now to buy one...

You don't have problems jumping up + Left? Do I just have a faulty PSP?

Either there is something wrong with my PSP d-pad or the controls suck because I couldn't do a simple fireball about 80% of the times I tried. I've no problem using the dual-shock pads in SF3 and my PSP d-pad seems perfectly fine for all the other games I have so I don't know what was wrong with it.

Luckily i've got Vampire DarkStalkers Collection for the PS2 in the post, it'll be better with a stick and minus the load times anyway :)

I'm finding the up-left and fireball problems too. Capcom probably should have tweaked the controls to a portable instead of just straight porting

It's almost impossible for me.
