The Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 plus port was bad so I'm feeling kinda worried about this one. Hopefully it's more like Street Fighter X Tekken than Mortal Kombat, in terms of port-quality.

Nothing to worry about...this IS an extremely well-done port. I just played an online match...the other player had one bar listed and the match still ran buttery-smooth. I'm not sure if the game is native-res, but it looks very sharp and it definitely runs at 60 FPS like the console versions.
Don't hesitate to pick this game up!

I was gonna go the PSN route myself, but broken street date+the weekend to play = no way am I waiting, lol. I may sell the cart to a buddy at work and download it next week though.

If this game had Tengu or Genra or came with all the DLC I might've legitimately considered buying a Vita
I'm sure we'll see DOA5++ or DOA5U later this year though

It doesn't seem like you can do this yet. My guess is that a release-day patch will add it.
As always, the game always looks better in motion and on the Vita screen. Screenshots tend to look washed out.

I always get the feeling that people expect more out of the vita than it's actually capable of. It's a fairly robust console (where graphical output is concerned) but it's not a handheld PS3.
Those shots looks better then DOA dimensions and they run at double the resolution. I don't personally expect much more really.

I think bullshots are to be expected from any publisher, but this is straight up deceit.

They didn't just AA, the models and lighting are entirely different (lack of self shadowing is most obvious).
Surely there's people who pre-ordered based on the assumption the final game will somewhat resemble that. Now I wouldn't be surprised if the cutscenes are just videos

That's not advertising the Vita version, you plonker, it's advertising the DLC you get with the collector's edition.
