Ninja Gaiden And Dead Or Alive May Be Getting Rebooted

Team Ninja has announced possible plans for resurrecting both franchises.

Koei Tecmo Games Director Fumihiko Yasuda, who also heads up the branch developer Team Ninja, made the announcement during G Star Conference 2022 in Busan, South Korea, Ruliweb first reported.

During the four-day event, which is set to end Sunday, Yasuda unveiled a slide bearing images from Dead or Alive, as well as the words "Team NINJA's Future – Reboot of Popular Series," per My Nintendo News.

Really depends on if they make it current gen exclusive or go for the easier cash and go cross gen. Considering we don't have a single current gen 1st party exclusive on either console after 2 years I've got my doubts.

Both Ratchet and Clank and also Returnal I believe aren't on PS4. But it is rare, and not a lot of 3rd party titles in that group.
 
I sincerely hope they build on the gameplay design of DoA 6. It is the best playing 3D fighter this generation. I cannot even enjoy playing the older entries after the amazing gameplay flow they achieved with this one. I also hope they make the Break Blows have more power behind them in terms of animation. I would love to see them add older martial artists instead of the school girls they have been shoving down everyone's throat since DoA 5 Ultimate. Would be cool to have a character like Fang from Tekken (a.k.a. Retsu from Baki the Grappler) in DoA.

Hopefully they can make a good fighting game again 5 & 6 were not that good imo.

That being said I would much rather see sega reboot virtua fighter than a new doa.

Or Konami reboot Bloody Roar.
 
They should do something more interesting with additional modes like "Tekken Force" from Tekken 3 and 4 where you have a side scrolling beat em up mode.





But simultaneously I'm expecting them to completely ruin Dead or Alive with no significant upgrades and a small budget to boot.

DOA was at its best being a front and centre Xbox exclusive franchise.

Virtua Fighter does not need a reboot as there is no focus on story and every roster member returns in nearly every subsequent entry (Taka Arashi excluded). I just really want their next entry to have content unlike their barebones Ultimate Showdown release.

I have no idea how they would bring Bloody Roar up to modern day standards. Even the PS2 era titles were archaic in design and heavily tied to their PS1 predecessors.

The series is in a serious need of a U-turn from DoA6.
I know that Team Ninja didn't actually commit to all the puritan idiocy they promoted before the release of the game but that crap stained the game's image, causing many fans to kept their distance from the game.

Actually she is not related to Kasumi at all...she is Raidou's daughter, like Ayane. Kasumi and Hayate are Shiden's kids.

So happy to finally have some news of DOA coming back. I don't care what they do as long as the art style doesn't go back to being too cartoony, it stays a 3D fighter and they keep my favorite characters in (KOKORO, Kasumi, Ayane, Lisa, Eliot, Brad Wong, Hitomi)

Ah yes true, she's half-sister to Ayane (who's in turn is half-sister to Kasumi).
 
If they do it right I'll be there day one but they turned 6 into an extreme grind fest so I'll be very cautious this time.
 
The DOA games are good for watching the girls bounce around. Many times, I forget that there are actual male characters in the game until play arcade mode and you have to fight one. LOL!

No doubt they will return to DOA5 levels of DLC costumes. :messenger_dizzy:
 
If they toned down the microtransaction crap it could probably do a hell of a lot better. I love the series up until newer gens like what #5? where it went crazy with season passes and stuff.

I play it for the articles…I mean gameplay. I mean ah fuck it I'm married with kids and I'll admit I still like my waifus… the gameplay is the closest to Virtua Fighter of all the 3D series so I do genuinely love it. The only disappointing ones to me have been 5 and 6 not because of the gameplay but mostly the level design not being as insane as previous entries with deformable snow and fucking dianosaurs running around.

P.S did Rumble Roses was my first introduction to the world to scissoring and any time it gets brought up in a comedy film like Book Smart I laugh my ass off.

Its sad when Tekken 7, a five year old PS4 game, is the only relevant 3D fighter. ANY new 3D fighter is welcome news.

unless Sega or Koei can come up with something better, it's the only 3d fighting franchise we need. DOA and Virtua Fighter never managed to stack up and there are better hentai games out there if you want to see boobs bounce. i doubt there will be any 3d fighter ever better than Tekken
the resources going into rebooting this could be better spent rebooting ninja gaiden and making it as fun and as good as possible

Disagree. I personally like DOA and Soul Calibur. I feel Tekken is more for hardcore fighters.
