You are hereby banned from posting in any APC or Tool related thread ever. I've had several complaint from multiple people now about this. I don't like a lot of popular bands this forum likes, so I don't post in threads about them. I hereby welcome you to this philosophy.

Normally something lilke this would be dealt through PM, but there've been a handful of people who've talked to me about this, so I want them to see something's been done. If you have any question Diablos, yoiu can PM me or post it in this thread.

But for now, this thread is about moderatiion questions. Don't ask about when the new smilies are coming or anything like that, and don't start singling out people you just don't like in hopes of getting them banned, but if you have any honest questions, you can post them here.

The issue is not approached in the terms of service...I was banned for a brief period for slagging someone off in a pm, and I consider this a bit unfair considering, as far as I knew, I was within the TOS. You should contact Wasabi if you see him posting in a thread and ask him. He's the forums superdude when it comes to that stuff. If you can't reach him for whatever reason, trying sending an email to forum@gaming-age.com

That's a bit of a grey area that, as you pointed out, wasn't really covered in the ToS. Different mods/admins might approach this subject differently, but personally, I would only ban someone for sending a PM to another person if they were harassing them. Obviously you shouldn't get banned for sending porn or using naughty words through PMs, but if you're PMing someone just to annoy them and fill up their box, then I'd say after a warning it'd be shit-can worthy.

Ah, I see. Well, my particular post was merely a continuation of a forum argument...the thread was getting off topic, so I took it to PMs, in an admittedly abusive fashion (didn't get a warning though). I guess next time I'll make sure to only argue through PMs with people who aren't complete narks. Thanks for clearing that up.

Anyway, with vB code, I think we may have turned that feature off. To be honest, the only possible use is image loading, but I think you guys can use links instead.

We can't really monitor anyone's PM box, that's what the P in PM stands for. However, if at any point you feel you have to wonder if it's appropiate, then it's not. taking to Instant Message, IRC, or e-mail. We only get involved if you're being an idot and harrassing someone. If we have to peek into your PM box, we can, so no terrorist cell planning, kids.

I really don't want to start a shit fest but I have never seen anyone go balls out and gang up on you about what you listen to. In fact, that's something that used to happene to me quite often and I just shrugged it off.

I'll get banned for this but here goes anyways. Believe it or not people get banned for shit other than breaking the rules. The only rule you need to know is that if you piss off the wrong person, a mod/admin or a sycophant of one of these then your stay here will be interrupted by week long vacations whenever you post something they do not like. On the opposite side if you are "down with the man" then there is nothing you can do that will get you kicked, short of posting porn or some other way over the top crime. One person will get kicked because they say something "mean" to another person, while someone else, mod/admin or sycophant can make fun of another posters terminal illness and the others will not only ignore this behavior, but congratulate them on their "wittiness." Long and short of it, this is someone else’s board and they can run it how ever they want to, and do whatever they want to when ever they want to. Don't expect fairness here and you will do OK. Talk to you in a week or so it's been fun.
