Death by Degrees Tekken: Nina Williams, so is anyone else excited about this game???

I love games like this, or what I hope this game is like! It looks like it has decent art direction and pretty fun gameplay. I haven't seen any topics on this recently so I thought I'd create one.

There are a ton of pics for it at

the-magicbox.com

I hope it ends up playing somewhat like KillSwitch, that game is just non stop fun, at least for the first 4 or 5 levels. It looks more similar to GITS:SAC, which up until the point that I currently am at, I've loved!

The control system sucked when it was in Blade.
The same control system was tolerable but boring because it didn't grow(same moves throughout The entire f'n game) in Rise to Honor.
We'll see how that system does in DbD.

So this game is supposed to be similar to Blade? Did anyone here on this board play DBD at E3?

EETS HORREEBOOL

This would be really cool as a mini game included in a home port of Tekken 5.

As a stand alone, well......hopefully it's a bit deeper than it looks

In what way does it not look deep? It looks like it could be pretty cool to me, I mean it may not have the "camo swapping" found in MGS3 but it should have "stylish action" as mentioned before!

You know, there is a fine balance between marketing saying "You're going to make a GTA clone" and a designer saying "I'm going to make this complete piece of crap based on one of my bit characters that is never going to sell."

Seriously. sometimes you just have to stop stupid ideas.

:lol

Okay honestly, I'm putting this one next to the cautiously optimistic, but not hoping for much - stack of games on the old wish list (next to Batman Begins).

Maybe I just haven't seen enough footage of the game but, the similarities between DoD and the Tekken Force game that was included as a bonus for a home console port just makes me a bit leery of the whole thing, and that game for the most part wasn't exactly a very engaging experience. Nothing so far from this title has caught my eye outside of the main character being Nina really.

I don't give a damn about the Tekken "story", and Nina can go suck an egg (Kazuya for life!); but I'm hoping this one is fun to play.

As for the controls, sounds like every instance of dual analogue control implementation by a western developer sucks balls. Somehow Capcom managed to get it right with Monster Hunter and I'm hoping Namco manages to pull it off.

I won't lose any sleep if I don't have to buy this game due to awful amounts of suck.

It was pretty universally panned at E3 if I remember right. I can't remember hearing a single good thing about Death by Degrees.

Namco pulled it off with Katamari Damacy...but I guess that isn't close to being the same thing. I don't even know why I said anything, I just like talking about Katamari Damacy.

well.. I never like Nina or Anna much. The male leads were more fun/cool. I thought they already released this title as a mini game mode in Tekken 4? :D

Paul Bryant + Law rock.

What's with all these junior members popping up lately and starting threads trying to stir up conversations on bad games? This thread is about as bad as the Barbie Pony Sex one imo. :D

Anyone else notice that every single post by this "Jr." guy is related to Namco in some way?

Viral? :(

Either Namco or....... the DS! Maybe he's playing for two camps! :lol

Played it at E3.

Worst. Control system. Evah.

Analogue right to attack. Combos done by mashing it repeatedly. Stupid special moves that require finger yoga techniques that need to hit four buttons at a time. Shoulder buttons for block and throw. Level design = Resident Evil / Tomb Raider style find thing and put it over there. I found it pretty bland overall.

Graphics were nice! It was also funny how gratuitous they were being by starting the game off with her in her two piece skimpy bathing suit on a boat deck in the sun. DOA Metal Gear anyone?

yeah, the controls are intolerable. as dual analog controls always are when they find their way into a beatemup. i love namco and third person action games. a nina williams spinoff should have been cool. but it isn't.

In the Tekken games Nina is Scottish, wonder if she'll have a Scottish accent when she speaks or just give her a typical American voice.

I don't hold Katamari Damacy to the same standard I do Monster Hunter or Rise to Honor. Namely because you're controlling an object and not an individual. There's a standard for how game characters are supposed to control / behave in the players hands, and most dual analogue action games fail to achieve that.

That bastard was such a cocksucking asshole. How the hell did you have to beat that guy.

Wait.. Ehr.. I don't play crap like this.

She's Irish, not cool enough to be Scottish.

You know what Scottish character whoops fucking ass? Angus McGregor from Kasumi Ninja. He lifts up his kilt and shoots fireballs. He also has a caber toss move. God damn. I can't find any pics of him though :(

edit: I googled for Kasumi Ninja but this is all I can find:

I'm more looking forward to Virtua Fighter Quest.

Oh god, please tell me you didn't just say that!!!

The game is freakish, from the bizarro future-world design to the mocap applied to superdeformed anime models.

It's like Sega said, "Hey, let's take Virtua Fighter and make it as gay as we possibly can and alienate as many fans as possible"

Well, he didn't say "I think Virtua Fighter Quest is going to be good", but instead he said "Virtua Fighter Quest poo stinks less than this Nina Tekken Crap poo." :)

Well, you like run and jump and learn abilities and get Pokemo--I MEAN Virtua Fighters and learn how to SPoD motherfuckers, so I guess there's a bit more to the gameplay than Nina.

Then again, there's a lot more content in the 100-chapter Aliens vs. Sonic the Hedgehog fanfic than there is in most books, so more does not always equal better.
