These scores are bullshit. They're probably real, but they're bullshit. I've never heard of PSE2, but if anyone who gave these "scores" are reading this, you're a fucking idiot. Your scores are bullshit and your magazine is probably very stupid.

lol, i have never ever even one time seen a magazine overrate so many games in one month. that's almost unbelievable!

and to give out a %100 just wow, especially when there are bugs in the game (not like before but none the less -- the game is far from perfect)

once a magazine gives out 100% all its credability is lost

10/10 are ok because they don't mean perfection but 100% does mean it and no game will ever be perfect

Uh, heh, 10/10 means...perfect.

That Guilty Gear Isuka score..how did that pile get 89%? When I played it, it was damn near unplayable due to the fucking "turn" button mechanic.

Not to everyone. Whatever. He was trying to draw a distinction between a 10-point scale and a 100-point scale. If you don't give a 10 to a particular game, you drop it down to a 9. Yet maybe you feel it's worth more than that. 9 is 'excellent', 10 is 'masterpiece', for instance. Yet with a 100-point scale, the score has become more specific. 100% should naturally be far tougher to acquire vs a simple 10 on the former scale.

Yeah, but there's more margin for error, e.g. if a great game had flaws and was a '9.5,' you'd probably round up and give it a 10 (and this seems to be the practice) on a whole number scale. With 100% the only room for error is between 99.5-100 (otherwise it'd be a 99), so it's a lot more indicative of "true" perfection (much less margin for it to actually not be "perfect").

as mrping said 100% would mean it's perfect. A+ in a test does not necessary mean that you scored 100% on every question.

Best post eVaR.

I am confused though...wtf is 5/5 then?

:lol

i'd say it goes from excellent to everyone must own this game

smaller scale so bigger band of games can fit into each number.

PS thx to every1 for adding to my argument makes replies so much easier:P

404 Error: Funny not Found.

I didn't even have to edit a bunch of the scores to make them look fucking ridiculous. I'd seriously considering banning PSE2 scores if that's what they usually look like.

PSE2 is the PS2 version of PS Extreme magazine. The mag is run by Greg Off. Yes, they do get incentives for scoring games incredibly high. The biggest incentive is getting their name with a quote plastered on every game commercial or magazine game ad. They have been doing thing this for years. They gave an Army Men game for the PS2 a 98% and MGS2 a 96% in the same issue.
