So I finally got a hold of the game informer that had the scoop on these 2 titles. My god do they both look beautiful. I am pumped for all the changes they are doing for fight night with the elimination of the HUD and the better career mode. Def Jam though (which is in my top 3 games of the generation for pure fun) is not giving me that awesome feeling. It looks awesome, and the idea they alluded to of making the soundtrack interactive with the action like Lumines is cool as well, but it makes heavy reference that they are going to go toward the fight night control scheme with the analogs and ditch the grappling completely. I always appreciated Def Jam 2 as a hybrid fighter of wrestling and club fighting, and the grappling that was provided by the AKI engine was awesome..
I am looking forward to playing it, but it sounds like AKI won't be involved and brings horrible thoughts that the famed AKI wrestling engine won't be used anymore. That engine is just too good not to have it used in a wrestling type game.
Any got anything to contribute on this?
