Demon's Souls on PS5 Apparently Still Has Undiscovered Items

Over on Twitter, Lance McDonald tweeted out that he has it on good authority that Bluepoint Games, the developers of the Demon's Souls remake, added numerous new items to the game that have yet to be discovered. McDonald isn't clear on whether these items can be obtained by the player in, perhaps, obtuse ways, or if they are only discoverable in the game data. He says he would obtain the items if he knew how, but just is certain they are at least in the game data.

Acquiring the means to jailbreak a PlayStation 5 is currently in McDonald's way, but he says that for now all he knows is that there are 4 undiscovered items in the Demon's Souls remake, and he knows what they are called. However, nowhere in the tweet does McDonald mention where he heard this information from, or if it is inside information. McDonald ends by explaining that the items may be obtainable in-game, but isn't sure and that he would confirm with his followers if he finds out it is impossible.

Farther down the Twitter thread reveals that some players have noticed some items seen in concept art in the in-game gallery, that appear to be missing from the actual game; items such as the mysterious Ring of the Chieftain and some unused armors as well. One commenter even mentions an item around the Islands Edge/Ritual Path area that they discovered en route through a secret path and with the help of Demon's Souls' photo mode.

The whole "door" thing was a fun little ride when the remake first came out, and the equipment they put in Penetrator armor was highly requested and done well. For all of the problems I have with the remake, that wasn't one of them, it was a cool addition. I hope the rest of the stuff is actually in the game somewhere and not just unused items.

I was actually playing 1-1 yesterday just to entertain myself and was hearing very strange atmospheric noises. That remake is still a bit of a mystery even after getting the platinum.

I wonder if this is a clue to whatever else they're working on. I wish he'd write down the names of what they're called at least.

I really wish bluepoint made dlc for the 6th archstone. It would still be very profitable now as elden ring will bring in new souls fanatics one they feel how good souls games feel.

Maybe one of these items makes classic mode available, then you don't have to deal with bluepoint's awful new art style and soundtrack.

Why not just say what they are
In another tweet, he said he doesn't want to tell the names to not ruin the fun for those who are actually looking for them in game, since it's not yet clear if they are obtainable or not in game.

Just FYI,

Demon's Souls on the PS5 is on sale for 39.99 until April 14th.

Just picked it up. Probably won't put much time into it cause I'm still enjoying Elden Ring but it'll be fun to dive into it and proceed to get absolutely trounced. I had it on the PS3 and man, if you think ER is hard, don't come near Demon's Souls, the game is effing brutal. Probably the hardest Souls game, at least from my experience with them.

I thought it was the easiest. And the game has a silky smooth framerate so that's nice. Definitely worth the $40. One of the best looking games I've ever played.

Even after putting almost 200 hours in I'm still at awe over how fucking good this remake is. It plays so goddamn well, rock solid performance and it looks absolutely stunning while doing it. Bluepoint deserve all cred for the amazing work they did with this game. Simply outstanding quality.

I'm still on the fence of whether this is an updated Rex sound font, or something else. It does have an earie familiarity to it.

Everyone has a different game they think is the hardest from the series. The universal opinion will be that it's the best looking, performing and best sounding. Don't sleep on the audio. It's really great

Nice. Yea, I started gaming exclusively with over the ear headphones probably 2 years ago. It's a night and day difference, can't play games via sound bar audio anymore.

I'd be really impressed if they were able to bury more secrets. That coin one was done fairly fast imo so the more the better. The ones in sotc took much longer

Can someone create a concern thread in the coming days? We don't want a positive story about a Sony First Party game to fester too long. That would be great.
