I expect this thread to contain less amounts of weaponized autism from those who actually play the game.
Yea, I want to the raid it tonight too. The loot all looks great.
Didn’t expect the Vex offensice area to be as large as it is for temporary season content. I expected forge size initially. No idea how the rollout is going to be for further content aside that we’re getting more.
Tons of enemies. 6-player match made activity. Actually causes slowdown on the pro. Generous with loot drops too.
I was happy and overwhelmed with the content and stuff to do day one. Now I’m reminded it just started.
The absolute worst thing about destiny 2 is this right here. Also can't even join a guild unless you do this same thing here. For as many strides forward bungie takes, this is a huge hole. The main reason I have never done a raid or joined a guild. Not complaining to you fyi. Just venting about how this is one of the biggest flaws.
Not sure what has changed(maybe all the newbs or people that have come back but the new people don't have exotics like these guys) but last night I played 3 rounds of crucible. Got 3 eliminiations and 6k damage in 2 of the games with my Go Figure. I could not have improved just by playing apex
You can join clans in-game.
I don’t think random matchmaking for raids would work AT ALL. Too mechanic heavy and requires voice chat And specific load outs that should be discussed with your team beforehand.
They’ve addressed some of these concerns... and not by offering matchmaking, but designing similar activities like the menagerie, dungeons and mini-raids quests like zero hour, and whisper. And ironically, those activities have loot that you kinda need in your pocket to raid successfully no less.
All of those offer an experience similar to raid. With jumping puzzles, huge and unique set pieces, boss encounters. Most are three-man activities.
The menagerie is 6-player that attempts to be a casual bite-sized raid-like mode. It introduced mechanic similar to those you may find in a raid but they had to design it by having a “no fail state” just to make it enjoyable with a group of micless randoms.
Nor do I want to see raids ever simplified. There’s a barrier of entry.
I could see them moving the app features in-game but I’m not convinced it would ever be more effective than the mobile app Itself. I do think it’s rather impressive tho and a necessary tool for players who want to be more engaged. You can manage your vault and equip items. Create and search for teams and invite them directly to your game from the app. Far less cumbersome than lfg website alternatives.
And if you’ve just started. You got a long way to go before you even have a usable raid loadout.
There’s not too say things can’t change more... I mean, nightfall kinda has matchmaking now for lesser difficulties. But to make those harder it’s just a power level increase and modifiers. It’s nkt the same as a mechanic driven activity. You can’t just scale a raid back to make it casual friendly with ruining it entirely.
