Guys this isn't the proper thread for code-begging. Start up a new one for that.

READ THE MOD'S POST PLEASE!!!!!

Definitely not.

Yup you are right. They will not be. It would be unfair to everyone else who did not get to participate in the Alpha or Beta. They wiped it from Pre-Alpha to Alpha and will no doubt wipe it from Alpha to Beta. Then again of course from Beta to retail.

so it seems people are annoyed by the numbers. i thought that looked funny in the videos but since i haven't played it yet i can't really comment. i hope they listen to feedback and make it optional by launch. i guess that is what alphas and betas are for.

Nope, no collectors editions yet. I've been waiting for them to announce one, but nothing announced. :(
I could see them doing one where they include all of the books that are going to be released as well as other content. Do you expect to hear anything this week when people are focused on gaming or later (perhaps during the Beta)?

Ugh, they're not already? Thought that would have been a given.

I'm not sure. I'm hoping to hear something this week, but my guess is that if we don't, it'll probably happen around the time the beta begins. There's no way this game ISN'T getting a fancy collectors edition. Just to have to wait until they decide to show it off!

I'm just bummed I was at work when Sony announced the theater E3 experience, I would have had a code for both destiny and battlefield

I'll just be watching destiny streams all day, it's like I'm playing ;)

I'm so tired lol! Played this shit until 2:00 last night! I think it's the best beta of any game I've ever played, and this is just alpha. I ended up leveling my hunter to the max and I've got my warlock around lvl 6 i think. There is this one random event that happens in free roam where the sky goes dark and drop ships come in and they drop this huge tank/walker thing that I've tried to kill twice now but failed at the last second both times lol it's complete insanity because there are literally 20-30 bad guys swarming around you while you have to beat the fucking walker tank. It's hard shit but I absolutely love it! Ill be doing the strike mission tonight!

I am beyond impressed with what I've seen in this beta so far. Definitely curious to see what they open up in the July beta. There are lvl 20 items I've seen and enemies that are beyond lvl 8 too. I think the lvl cap will be raised hopefully to 20 for the beta in July. I really like the pvp in this too, was getting my ass handed to me for the most part but it's really fun.

This vid of the Strike on Legend difficulty is pretty damn great,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwK9qbLFlGQ

That's a lot of insanity, and it seems like it requires communication and teamwork.

The death mechanic seems a little forgiving though, especially since you just go back to checkpoint, I wonder if there will be an "Iron" skull style equivalent.

A little? It seems like its almost impossible to lose with well coordinated team.

On the positive aide the graphics are beautiful and the gameplay despite the ADS looks fun. Definitely duoing this with the MCC this holiday.

The key begging thread opened my eyes as to how many people want in the Alpha/how scarce keys may be. Hrm.

I have 2 coming tomorrow, unsure if I'll use em. And no I'm not giving them away! :p

I spent the weekend playing the Alpha.... I must admit I have some serious issues with it but I am still planning a purchase.

It is however slipping down my list of most anticipated.... gonna put more time in this week with more people on to see if things pick up for me.

It's what nightmares are made of! Very much looking forward to playing tomorrow.

Got my code(s) and I'm good to go!

Could you elaborate?

Sorry I should have expanded.... in a meeting and just wanted to read some other impressions and shoot out mine.

One issue is that often the world feels dead to me. But the main points are as follows...

1) Right away when fighting one of the first groups out in a free roam area I killed them... and was busy looking around for loot and just exploring and BOOM... they respawned and I was dead instantly. The time it took for the to respond seemed crazy fast and that killed the sense of exploring for me.

2) At the same spot later on I joined 2 others... and by joined I mean I walked up and we fought through 2-3 rooms of enemies.... as we reached the next phase of the tunnel I went to unlock the door with my Ghost and turned around... they were gone. The game phases you out into your own instance (Like an MMO) unless you are actually joined in a group. I believe this will be jarring to many console players and I was actually very upset as the game is NOT easy and you can tell built for co-op.

3) Side Note about joining.. you R3 click in on someone to invite them to your crew... problem is it brings up the PS4 party system. I feel this needs to be in game and just quickly tie yourself to people... I do not want to send a party invite through the system and hope they stop their game and accept. I am thinking more Burnout right on the D Pad.. Invite.. BOOM joined in game. If you want to talk to them THEN you can party invite.. I just feel this needs to be easier since the game demands co op.

Those two things were the major head scratching things that happened. Outside of that... I just feel it does not have much soul.. I love Bungie and the game looks great and plays great and I LOVE the UI and inventory system and I see what they are trying to do but.. I am just not feeling it. There is just no soul if that makes sense.

Again this is about 3-4 hours of play time and this last weekend so very few online but ultimately I found myself back at the hub watching people dance and it really hit me.. this is an MMO and I did not know how to really take that with what was provided.

I am as I said still buying it and I do have hope and it does have some awesome elements and that Bungie polish but.. no soul. :(

All your cons sound like pros to me.

Played for a few hours last night and had a ton of fun. Game is super pretty. This game doesn't feel exactly like Halo, but not like Call of Duty of Battlefield either. A great middle ground. The shooting feels really good, and that's coming from a big Halo fan and FPS player.

I'm maxed out level-wise but still have a lot of upgrades it looks like I could get. Starting to get some of the really interesting weapons.

Hunter is dope purely because of the throwing knife. Nothing is more satisfying then taking a player down to like 10-20% health in PvP and then throwing knife-ing them in the face from 20 yards away to finish them off.

Sometimes I feel like I'm going in circles in the map, as there isn't really any direction, but there is always missions to do. It might just be me but I feel like there are multiple missions at each mission point (the blinking green things you go to to get the objective) because I've definitely gone to the same one and got a different objective. There has been times where I've accidentally done a mission over again and not realized until halfway through. I probably need to explore more and fine some other out of the way areas.

I'll be home in about 5 hours, and I'll be streaming like I did last night here. There was about 80 people in the stream last night, and I would love to have some GAFfers join as well!

Anyone in the F&F right now go ahead and add me, my PSN is Jaklap1. Let me know you're DestinyGAF!

ugh the delay countdown thing is there my friends are going to troll me so hard can't play any halo without a battle between my friends and me with that stupid thing

Yup they're random. That's one thing I like about those missions. You never know which one you'll get until you activate that mission.

It is however slipping down my list of most anticipated.... gonna put more time in this week with more people on to see if things pick up for me.

My issues:

Bosses not tuned so well. Really bullet spongy making me feel repetitive. Easy fix post alpha

Terrible voice acting

AI not as good as halo in the field

All classes somewhat similar up to level 8 where the alpha caps you. Supers, grenades and melee abilities are different but the guns are the same which is the majority of the fight loop.

Gameplay not the same as halo: fixed load out means no more looking in the field for new weapons with new strategies. Weapon load out currently doesn't change strategy as much as it did in halo

Loading the hub is slow, but you have to do this all the time to access new challenges, weapons and more

Area is huge but kind of empty? Probably an alpha thing.

I still really liked it though. Playing by myself wasn't a lonely experience because players are always around in a way that doesn't affect any of my missions. Gunplay was more entertaining than borderlands by far for me. And I felt addicted in trying to level up and gain perks and abilities

Ah, makes sense. Are they procedurally generated? They all seem to have sort of similar objectives, and a lot don't give you too much story.

That being said, I probably should try and pay attention to the story more, I was chatting with my girlfriend and people in Twitch whenever there was a break in the action instead

All your cons sound like pros to me.

Obviously different people are wanting or expecting different things.. if that is the type of experience you want then that is awesome, you are gonna get it.

I had fun... these were just some of my honest feelings as I played the game. Not saying it will be bad for everyone but I do think some of these things on the console could put off some gamers.

I don't think they're procedurally generated. I think they just draw from a pool of possible missions. I never see a variance in number of what to get, kill, etc.

Yup to each their own I say. I know not everyone is going to like the game. You just can't please everyone. That's ok too if it ends up not being your cup of tea. Thankfully we live in an age where there is no shortage of great games. Everyone can find something they like.

Thanks for the info. I can see how some of that could be annoying.

Gotta say, from what I've seen from the streams, I like the loading music during searching for games like PVP or Strikes.

That's another thing. I really love the music. Especially during the optional online missions, the drums that kick in and shit makes it really intense sounding, it's great.
