This prolly has been asked a thousand times but i thought i was able to play it today and i even pre ordede to get the beta code.. so how come i cant play the game..

This is Alpha... separate codes are being sent out for it. You had to have registered.

It really pisses me off when people get into these alpha things/while i do pretty much the same and yet get no betta key(pointing at blizzard) .. also ps ive been on the piss for a bit so forgive me XD.

The main problem with people's expectations is that everyone was expecting a revolution in online gaming, and Bungie / Activision are to blame for this. All the Vid Docs and interviews pump this aura that this game is unlike anything you've ever seen, a revolution for console gaming of the likes of Halo. What we get is a game that just takes current trends and gives them the Bungie polish.

"What's wrong with that" some might ask. Nothing really. This is what Blizzard did with WoW back in the day. The difference here is that the MMO genre lacked polish on almost every front. Blizzard was the first to really make the genre tasty for the masses. This is not the case in the online FPS genre. This genre has been perfected to the point of staleness over the past decade. There really is not much new for Bungie to iterate on.

It's for friends and family of Bungie.

Yup. Bungie employees could invite some friends family, people they thought were decent folks into the alpha to play. Now they've decided to open it up for people who are lucky enough to get a code. That to me was pretty cool of them. They didn't have to do that but they are.

Everything but this makes sense.

Why would they remove accuracy penalties for hip firing and/or movement and make it as accurate as aiming down the sight? It becomes more difficult to accurately aim a firearm when not using the sights or when on the move. Yes, it's a videogame... and yes it's Bungie... but accuracy penalties should ABSOLUTELY remain in the game, IMO. It forces one to think about what they're about to do and weigh their options...

Do i sprint around here and hip fire... do i jump here and ADS... do i cautiously approach this entry way already aiming... etc.

But alas.. different strokes.
Some of you keep saying hip fire, as if the characters in Destiny were Rambo or something, and it doesn't make sense. If you see the videos, the characters always have the weapon on the shoulder, not on the hip. So it would even make more sense, and be more realistic in this case to not penalize your aim when not using ADS.

And I already explained when you asked "What's with the ADS hate?" I wrote this:

Well, it depends on the way it is implemented. I, for one, would have no problems if ADS was implemented like in Bioshock, where it is completely optional to use it (it only gives you a little bit more zoom, and reduces your aiming sensitivity, but doesn't change the level of accuracy of the weapons)

But there's another, way more annoying kind of ADS aiming, the kind that use most shooters nowadays. It basically penalizes your accuracy when not using ADS, forcing you to use it most of the time, wich totally sucks. Not to talk about the fact that going into ADS slows down your character, which sucks even more. If you also add the accuracy penalties for other actions, like jumping, then you can have a pretty good idea why people would hate ADS.

There's also the fact that Bungie was one of the very few developers that still made FPS's without ADS (a dying breed, sadly) which, in this case, makes it even more worse.

You could say ADS adds realism, but in the case of Destiny, a sci-fi / fantasy game where things like "space magic" exist, it wouldn't make much sense. And there's also the fact that there are much better ways to introduce the same kind of gameplay restrictions in way more interesting ways. See CS:GO, for example; while today's ADS shooters only require you to press LT, Counter-Strike actually makes you slow down your character and crouch to be accurate, and all that with the added benefit of not having to have half the screen obscured by your own weapon.
You see, I'm not even asking for ADS to be removed from the game, I just want it to be optional. Optional ADS > Forced ADS

And again, if you like forced ADS there's already plenty of games that do just that (most shooters nowadays, sadly) I just want Bungie to not follow that terrible trend in game design, nothing more.

I haven't played every game, granted, but Destiny is definitely a unique game I've played.

Yeah, major kudos to them for spreading some of the love.

Hunting for new gear is addicting to me. Looking for a new shotgun right now. Didn't know that some of your weapons could level up in the same way your class does, that's really, really neat.

They have a huge cool down, right?
Can you speed that cool down up with skills, etc.?

You can lower them with one of the stats. OPs are designed to be that nuke. You have to work and build them up. I'd actually agree if they were faster to recharge but I figured he was kidding. I've been hit by them in PVP and I am like damn and I chuckle because I know I'll be hitting someone else with mine. lol

Yeah, if you're playing the Crucible right now, you pretty much play the same people over and over again.

Haha yea I was in a game with ninja last night and he was kicking my ass non stop and I kept wondering if it was the same ninja guy who has been mentioned a few times in this thread. Sure enough it was. Dude was pissing me off hard
