you can head to the wall opening from the very first destiny gameplay reveal, there are some really beautiful places there. Go to where the walker public event is, then head through the place where the elite vanguard drops, theres a hole in the wall where you'll see that turbine from the first reveal, and just back track through that area.

Lucky. Still hoping I at least get into the 3 day alpha x.x All these screens and videos are great. Really want some hands-on time exploring, shooting and zooming around haha. Love exploring and finding cool places.
 
Man seeing all these impressions is making me so impatient. I have a code coming from the E3 Experience tomorrow, although since they didn't send any confirmation email or anything I am gonna be so on tilt until I get it. Signed up on the site as well to hopefully get a key for my friend who couldn't make it to the E3 Theater thing. Thanks to everyone who is taking the time to write up all these impressions. My Vanguard shirt is waiting to be worn tomorrow :D
 
Okay, so I haven't played the Alpha, but... Bungie Bungie Bungie! Things need a fixin'!

Gun sights and crosshairs:
Different gun types should have different crosshairs and especially sights. Most, if not all pulse space bullet (fusion?) rifles I've seen in alpha streams use precision rifle sights, which makes very little sense because it's basically a space shotgun. This makes the guns appear randomly generated, not crafted with care.

Menu interface:
The full screen menu interface causes some big issues which could be solved in large part by making the background semi-transparent.
I keep seeing players missing out on social interactions because they were unaware of what's happening around them, which from the point of view of the player trying to interact with them makes them appear "AFK" or disconnected/bugged, and their static pose further breaks immersion. Borderlands solves this by displaying a simple holographic "menu" screen around the player.
What's worse, players often get attacked while in menus, which might is a minor problem for most (it can be disorienting), but it would surely mean death for a deaf player's Guardian.

when you upgrade your weapons, you can change the sights on the weapons.
 
God DAMN I love the lighting in this game. Can't stress that enough, it's great. Love seeing shadows of enemies creeping around.

Ninja was blaming his teammates. He also said he was better than everyone on the other team, but his skills were being held back by his own partners. And then he went on to lose a bunch of 1 on 1 encounters. I laughed.
 
I know it probably won't ease people even a bit though I registered with my EU, US and JP PSN accounts, if I end up getting multiple codes I will give them away on GAF :)
 
Gonna be feverishly checking my inbox tomorrow. I've been admittedly skeptical for some time now, but I really hope I get into the alpha and see what it's all about.
 
Wow these screens look fantastic! I managed to get in and apply for a code within the first minute of them announcing it so I hope I get one tomorrow.
 
As much as I want to see the alpha with my own eyes, I admit that I'd probably just mount around for a few hours without actually doing anything. Exploring a world that big for the first time is one of the best things about a new game.
 
boosting off of things with the sparrow is really amusing. really like the animations on this thing. I need to get into the habit of using it more. many attempted splatters have ended in profound sadness though, you're a huge target if you slam into a wall and don't jump right off.
 
6 more minutest until my download is done, I'll be sure to post some impressions + possibly some screenshots tonight!!! :D So pumped praise urk!!

I hope you are right, I dearly hope so! With my link it will take about 3-4 hours till I arrive at my Destiny so I hope this mistake really gets corrected till it's too late. I would be fine just scouting the world really D: Is there anybody with a spare code? I promise I would share my up-to 3 own codes back tomorrow from my own registrations as I said above!
 
Was watching somebody play the alpha on twitch and came away impressed at the size of Old Russia. If every other map is relatively the same size then this will be one massive game.

I'm still finding things I haven't seen before, and all I've done is free roam. It's pretty great. Feels smallish at first, but then as you explore you realize how much bigger the map is over initial impressions.
 
I can't remember if this has ever been mentioned/confirmed, but is it possible to play cross-gen on PlayStation? Like PS3 players playing with PS4 etc.?

Say what...no just no. It's nothing like a shotgun. Pulse rifles are just that - rifles - and can be used to get head shots.

I kinda liked all those Halo games you made, Destiny looks pretty cool but I dunno. I'm pretty entitled so give me a bloody code. I might play the alpha if I get one, but I might play other games.
