Yep, I agreed with everything in your recent class fashion post. As David Bowie famously sang "Fashion! Turn to the Zoba!" Although I dig this look for my Hunter:

Iron Banner gear + CE helm + VoG cloak + God of War shader + Red Death = slick

Xur wasn't even good for a whole page of discussion before the thread slowed down...

We know Bungie can control Xur's inventory in real time and we know there's nothing magically delicious about heavy synth that mysteriously made it disappear during the exact time frame when it impaired players' ability to clear the main time sink quickly.

I agree with you about the PR stuff. Honestly Bungie's PR has been an issue for a long ass time. They seem like such an impenetrable company at times. Instead of the "we know best" attitude they always seem to have, they should actually just tell us why they're doing what they're doing, and what the timetable is for fixes. You know, transparency. I think they'd be quite surprised with the response from the players.

Why would they list it as a bug if it wasn't actually a bug?

"Bug" sounds a lot better than "we intentionally removed it to make HM Scrota take longer to finish." They have a terrible habit of blaming their design decisions on something supposedly out of their control.

"Xur is random"... now please buy his totally random selection of NLBs and DBreaths right after TDB laucnhes. Whoops, the Daily is repeating the two TDB missions waaay too frequently and the NFall+Strike keeps coming up Omni-janitor... must be a bug! Definitely not a lousy way to force people into buying the DLC.

I am sensitive to the feeling of people complaining or criticizing Bungie too much but this stuff deserves to be called out. The community thread is the perfect place to discuss it, among knowledgeable people who still love or at least care about the game. As long as it doesn't get carried away or become personal attacks against the devs.

I much prefer to see reasonably worded, knowledgeable criticisms of the game itself than personal insults against fellow community members. Obviously people can and should post w/e they want, but calling other DGAF'ers "embarrassing" doesn't make for a healthy community.

Yep, exactly this. People appreciate when they're told a straight story and can get cranky when talked down to.

There's a fascinating conversation to be had about the enormous challenges in AAA game development and publishing but Bungie hasn't helped to start it or facilitate it within the community. The community definitely deserves criticism as well, especially with the more extreme rhetoric and name-calling. But it's hard to elevate the dialogue above Us vs. Them camps (Destiny players vs. haters) when we get so little insight from the company itself.

Oh wow rank 30...considering that I've been pretty lucky yeah. I'm only rank 17 with DO on my main (around 15-16 on other characters), but also rank 15 in both NM and FWC.
I would love a God of War shader for my Hunter, that DrDrizzay look is awesome!

But yeah, the faction shaders and ships have now become the true exotics.

I tried a ROC strike with MM last night. First one was Undying mind. One player quit right away. The other player quit during the major hallway area. No new players spawned in... Time wasted... Now I remember why MM stinks for ROC.

In a recent update, DeeJ mentioned they are looking into adding a penalty for frequent quitters. It will start with a short activity ban that will increase with repeat offenses up to and including permanent ban. I think that is a good step in the right direction. However, I do think they need to compromise and meet us half way. There is a reason people are quitting certain strikes and those reasons can vary. Unfortunately this happened to me and Tears as well yesterday when we tried to run the weeklies.
Went all well, until we were half way the waves and we noticed this guy sitting behind the train on the far left being invisible.
Second try, we were paired with a random that felt the need to melee every Fallen Captain.

They were only banning players that were chronically AFK. The quitting problem in MM is much worse than the AFK problem IMO. Who wants to keep playing ROC with MM when frequently your whole team just quits in the middle or after the load in and you get nothing for it?

Well damn. That should be part of the equation since it is still disruptive to player enjoyment. Funny how so many early patches were pushed to address PvP exploits that effect player experience, but the PvE side has been ignored. I can't think of a single change that has been made to address PvE player grief.

None that we know about or that has been revealed through datamining. No PS exclusive stuff at all has been revealed through any means. I guess it's still possible that patch 1.2 brings more stuff. But with TDB the final patch was just a small file and all the main assets were in the previous patch.

Clan trophies. You can join clan SEXY, NG around the world, GAF raiders, Team Epic Sax, Sword Wielders or Muppet Labs

You would think so.
No, there's no benefit at all. The clan tag is displayed below your gamertag/PSN ID, but that's all.

Thank the gods, I never liked the idea of console exclusives anyway. Weapons and strikes should be available to everyone, ps4/xbox paid the same price after all.

It only ends up hurting people, Xur won't sell Hawkmoon, Monte Carlo, or 4th Horseman, and we will never see a nightfall from the psion strikes or undying mind (that one would suck as nightfall though haha)

And would then fear that I wouldn't be able to buy anything next week. And what if Xur sells something better next week? lol
