Dumb question: is the three of coins the best thing to buy from Xur? I'm sitting low 290ish light level.

At a 290ish LL exotics will drop at a 290 LL. You have to be 310+ to get the 310 exotic drops.

EDIT: Maybe it is a 300+ LL to have a chance at a 310 drop but I do know if you are 310 and above all exotic drops will be 310.

That said, yes, if you are looking for / need other exotic gear then 3oC are definitely the way to go. You should average about one exotic for every six 3oC used.

Running a normal King's Fall raid regularly is your best bet to get over 300 and closer to 310.
