cancel the preorder and purchase the psn gift card on amazon. Then redeem the code on PSN and preorder and preload the game there.

All of the pictures I've seen posted have been 3 days 12 hours starting at 3pm EST which would be 3am EST or 12am PST. However, these could be peeps on the West Coast.
Do we have confirmation from an East Coaster as to when the countdown clock ends?

Was it in your gift card balance? If so, then yea. I got $70 from my amazon visa rewards membership and I was able to see it go back into my balance once I canceled the pre order.
TBH, that would be the worse possible outcome, since it would basically mean the servers would get slammed by everyone in one fell swoop, instead of having the bulk of first-time logins being scattered in hour intervals.

The download is not inside the game... it is in PS4 background (you can't start the game yet)... PlayGo feature.
So the whole game will be download in StandBy.

Nah. There's midnight openings everywhere on the east coast. They wouldn't do it if the servers wouldn't let you play the game.
I ordered Digital guardian edition and received the Vanguard DLC.

PS4 have a time to check updates in StandBy... I couldn't understand yet but every time I wake up it shows download things.My ps4 is in stand by, but on the web store says they are still "waiting" to download....

PSN is gonna crumble come launch day.
Well it seems that those who preordered the regular edition didn't get the preorder DLC, fix this Bungie/Sony :/

Same here. It does note on PSN that the Vanguard DLC is included with preorder, so I am sure they will fix this issue before launch.

If you dont mind waiting to download on Tuesday, you can buy the digital version directly from Amazon.

The game is 21GB installed... it downloads 18-19GB... that is the full game.
I beleive there is about another 20gigs, probably less, to install on launch night...
isnt that just last gen? I beleive it is 40gigs on current.

The US page says 17.4GB but the PS4 Store says 18.7GB.
PS. Maybe 40GB is the EU version with languages lol
I believe the "40gb" requirement is for future DLC and patches.
