Here's the cast for Season 1:

  • Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan
  • James Remar as Harry Morgan
  • David Zayas as Detective Batista
  • Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan
  • Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater
  • Uma Thurman as Charley
  • Krysten Ritter as Mia
  • Neil Patrick Harris as Lowell
  • David Dastmalchian as Gareth
  • Steve Schirripa as Vinny
  • John Lithgow as Arthur Mitchell
  • Jimmy Smits as Miguel Prado

I always down for more Dexter. Worst ending ever on the main series. Somewhat fixed with Cold Blood. Really liked the prequel. Cast for the new season looks great.

I liked the miniseries a lot, but was pretty ok with that being the farewell, it seems pretty crazy they're expecting us to believe the guy got shot in the heart and survived.

I have a guilty pleasure for Dexter, loving it all (all spin-offs up to date) and I am all in for this one baby.

I love me some Serial Killer Dark Comedy kino.

Seriously??? Another one? Fuck's sake, Showtime just can't let Dexter fucking die

Because they fucked up his "death" every single time. The Alaska season was amazing except for the final episode which involves his death. If they can get him a proper ending, then it can die in peace.

They went retard with the last seasons of the original series so I don't have much hope for these. I get why people will watch it but to me Dexter is already milked out. Side cast looks great though.

Did you watch Original Sin?
It's the best thing since Season One of Dexter!

Watched the first episodes and I must say it's better than I expected.
Dexter is still fun to watch and his immer monologue is very entertaining.
You can really feel that it is again the show runner of season 1-4 and new blood and not from the later seasons.

I'm convinced the way the writers just wrote Angela out of it and excused Dexter murdering her partner was the show's writers apologizing for the New blood finale.

Just watched the first two and I loved it.

Glad to have more Dexter.
Exactly same, I was already excited but after watching and enjoying it, I've got better vibes than New Blood.
Good thing wife watched first time, me re-watched the whole Dexter show earlier this year, so coming off that it's just even better fun, og Dexter easily one of the best show around.

Watched the first episode. It's good enough, but it's pretty funny how often they have to explain away all the loose ends from the previous seasons with tenuous rationalizations. His explanation to Batista about what happened to Deb made me laugh out loud.

But anyways, I'm not gonna watch the second episode for now. Since this is a weekly release show, I'd rather just wait until the season is almost complete so that I can watch the whole season over the span of a week or so.

I'll check out the prequel show in the meantime, since I honestly forgot about it.

Do so as Origina Sin is fucking awesome.

Fucking LOVED both episodes. Dexter is back! Harrison is actually great in this.

That 4th "ghost" cameo in the first episode. damn!

I guess everyone is different.

I personally hate it if shows drop at once, of course I am happy that I don't have to wait, but I always cannot resist and go through all episodes too quickly.

Having a weekly release, I have the chance to think about what has happened and look forward to the next episode. At the same time I also can listen to some podcasts to hear other opinions and predictions.

Having only watched the OG show up till season 6 or so, are all these sequels/prequels, whatever required watching for this?

I wouldn't waste time watching the rest of the original series, since it went really downhill. Perhaps just the last episode to understand what happened at the end or you just read about it. However New Blood is worth to see it, since it's quite entertaining and give some valuable information what you need to know coming into Resurrections, although there is a small recap.

Regarding Original Sin, the prequel series, it's entertaining, but it doesn't give you any information important to know, going into Resurrections.

I still need to finish watching Dexter Original Sin before I start watching this

Is Dexter Ressurection a miniseries or an actual sequel series?

I'm disappointed that there's no Debra in this new series

Unless the show is exceptionally good (which is rare), I don't binge episodes either. I try to space out the episodes (which is why I said I'd watch it over a week or so), but I prefer to start watching when nearly all the episodes are released so that I can continue when I'm ready to, rather than having to wait for the air date.

Also I try to avoid online discussions of shows that I'm actively watching because there's usually someone that can't resist casually posting spoilers. Happened a lot of times on this very forum back when Lost and GoT were on the air...

And on that note, I'll probably bow out of this thread until the season is done.
Enjoy the show!

Anyone watching this? I think it's pretty good actually, much better than that last season. I'm hooked.
Watched the first couple. I quite liked original Sin. This is just ok.

He was so dead and so fucked at the end of the last one, kinda stupid how most of it was handwaved away. I'll still keep with it as its easy watching but its far from peak Dexter, but also not the worst either (so far).

Surprised they did this before season 2 of OS to be honest.

It's decent, but really feels like they had a show about the son, then halfway through production they got orders to add Dexter to it. So far (I'm up to ep3 i think) their paths don't really cross, the stories aren't even connected. Nice seeing all the cameos though, my man DOAKES!!!

Poor Harrison, he's so deep into the friend zone he cant see the edge. Why couldn't that girl at least give him a hand job for watching her kid all the time?

Didn't they already do 'Dexter needs a friend/girlfriend ' plot? I couldn't care less about Harrison though by no fault of the actor. And if they do another Lilah at least they got Kristin Ritter.

Overall its...fine. there is just no going home again and without his supporting cast from Miami it feels like a very different show. Resurrecting Harry is going to work for only so long so maybe they think the show will be over in a season or two.

I hated that they brought this show back, i thought the ending from new blood was perfect. That being said, its really good this year once you just accept the fact hes never getting caught and never dying.

After 3 episodes I'm not sold. The confrontation with
Batista
from episode 1 was probably the biggest disappointment. I was expecting to see some sparks flying and pretty much nothing happened during the initial scene or later on (at least so far). The whole story arc that was crying about how bad it is for the immigrants in NY was very blunt and the weird female detective is pretty annoying.

There's a lot of fanservice and sure it's fun to see some of the old characters, but I don't think that will elevate the overall quality of this season.
