So I'm a barbarian on Inferno. I need better gear to be able to do this but I can't afford any half decent gear. What's the best way to get gear or gold in this situation?

Great game, just a few UI things I wish they'd done:

1. Give potions and gems a non-white color, say red and purple or somesuch. It would make it much easier to ignore anything with a white label.

2. Have a setting that will suppress the label below a certain threshold set by the player. I'd love to only see those items that are blue and up, for instance.

3. Any skill with a cooldown should get an icon above the action bar. The Wizard's Familiar, Hydra, Magic Weapon, etc. come to mind.

I just learned a fun fact; It appears to be possible to buy your own item on the Auction House. I posted a pretty specific item for a specific price, and there it is. If I want it back, 15% fee lol. Could be a coincidence, but I doubt it.

Spent about 40k in the AH upgrading my equips. Still need to buy gems for about 4 sockets which should bring DPS to around 1400.

I think I could still use a little more VIT, though. The terrible latency is putting me in a lot of danger when facing off against magic/elite mobs. Nightmare Act II, Level 35 DH.

Any advice on improving gear for Nightmare?

I feel like 60-70% magic find during most of normal did me no good. Crafting sucks balls.

I see wizards and shit with 800 dps.[/QUOTE]

You need to stack DEX/VIT. Go buy some stuff in the AH and your DPS should skyrocket.

I tried that before too - if you actually try and buy the item it won't let you and will give you a message about not being able to buy your own items.

That's good. I didn't want to accidentally buy the thing I was flipping.

Buy for X, sell in five minutes for X*2, profit. Delicious profit. There is nothing better than hearing that "your item has sold" noise.

I'm a DH lvl 52 in Hell, here are my stats.

XudQS.jpg

I'm using:
Vault w/ Action Shot
Cluster Arrow w/ Dazzling Arrow
Evasive Fire w/ Covering Fire
Companion w/ Bat

Hungering Arrow w/ Spray of Teeth
Elemental Arrow w/ Ball Lightning

Now, here's the prob...

I can't for the love of me beat this stupid Champion w/ his bs minions.

It's one of those frogs that move fast, and he's a waller/freezer/mortar.

That setup up I posted is the only thing that's lasted for a while but I can't beat this fucker. My gear is all decent/good too. What to do gaf :(?

What are you DHs using to go through Hell right now after the SS nerf? Any builds showing good stability?

No smoke screen and no preparation = no chance.

I'm reading some of the comments by Blizzard on Inferno. I get what they were trying to do with that mode, I really do. But they really should have known that like 99% of people really aren't going to see it that way.

This seems crazy to me. Did they really not think that people would try and progress linearly into Inferno? I get that they wanted it to be something that people tackled slowly and chipped away a bit at a time while they slowly gathered their end game equipment. After a long while when they finally got all their great equipment, they could conquer it, but that would take a while. But that's ok, because I think it was supposed to be like getting level 99 in D2, in a way, but even more. But I could have told you people wouldn't see it that way.

They did.

We purposely launched the game with Inferno being far more difficult than what we were able to progress in ourselves, assuming people would find it as difficult but with a few skilled players able to pull it off, or the difficulty would simply help root out problem skills and builds that allowed flaw-filled progression possibilities.

Use SS, with vault (and the no discipline cost rune). Use Tactical Advantage so that you can actually get away. Try to lure mobs onto a long, straight patch that you've already cleared. Run, trap, run, trap, caltrops, repeat. SS if you get in trouble (vault has a delay). Vault if you really have to.

Realize that fast mobs can't really be kited.

My friend dropped this on me yesterday:

Pretty sweet. There doesn't seem to be anything near it on the AH in terms of dps (for that level of course).

The sad part is that it's at the beginning of a portal right after I get out of it, so there is no stretch to lead it since I haven't gotten out anywhere yet (it's at the part right after the
Spider Queen
.

I could skip but damnit I haven't skipped anything yet :( I guess I could skip it then come back after exploring... blegh, I'll try that setup.

Still low level because I just switched classes, but please add me. Public games suck.

I hate seeing +Strength on bows. Really drives me insane.

Believe it or not, there are people that buy them. They've got DPS blinders on, and they don't understand how DPS actually works.

Edit: Just saw the level (Level Requirement Reduced by 12). Damnnnnn. That DPS seems really high for 48.

I'm wielding 1-hand weapons with 345 dps at level 57, and last time I checked the highest weapon dps for that level was <390. Once you find a better weapon, you can sell this for good money.

Yep, that should be a level 60 bow. Level 53 Wizard here and I don't see anything on the AH that's close to 400 dps...he's a lucky man.

Okay I got a question for you guys...
I found a weapon and it says +8 damage if I hover over it, if I'd change it with my current weapon. Even though I changed it, I see the damage go down in my stats (next to my inventory).

Seems to not make sense to me :(

game is so good but blizzard is so dumb.

useless legendary items.
nerfing skills without even trying to balance them
Seriouly? SS was broken to the bone at first place. Attacking while being untargetable. How the fuck you gonna deal with this shit in PVP, if there were one?
Original force shield was some OP shit too, PVE or PVP

They will try to balance them most likely. Problem is that it might take a bit of time and they wanted to stop the 'exploiting' asap. At least that is how I see it.

But the point about the gear I agree upon.

Randomly checked a merch in act2 nightmare and he was selling 10-16+damage rings with mfind and int bonus. That's like the best item yet for me so I bought a bunch of them and put them to AH.

Made 200k buying and selling on AH, for all the problems it has, this is pretty fun lol.

I hated scouting around AH in WoW. And while friends spent lots of time there and made a fortune I just thought it plain boring.

I can definitely see myself spending lots of time in D3 AH. Strange really! :P

But I guess it is because of the randomness of stats in the loot.

Yeah, is this seriously how it is?
I'm supposed to be buying gear on the ah? :|

I seriously don't get this mentality. Have you guys not played Diablo before? The game has been out for little over a week, and people are complaining they have to buy shit to progress, dying to fast, in Inferno difficulty etc. You get gear, by either trading, farming like all of us did back in Diablo 2. Now you can, if you so desire, buy it on the AH instead.

No one is forced to use the AH, you'll just have to do what we did back in Diablo 2. You'll have to actually take time farming, for items with less than desirable stats, or use the, athough I'm sure almost barren, trade chat channel in the game to trade for items.

I do have to say it's pretty damn tempting to go and buy stuff from the AH because all my drops are complete and utter garbage even with +60% MF. I'm still trying not to though.

I did all of normal mode in gimped +60%-70% magic gear, explored every inch, barely got anything for me, and have shit stats?

I am new to diablo

Doing it cause I haven't found anything of really great quality, and grinding for gold takes much more time than this. Plus I need a lot of gold to upgrade my barb for inferno.

I rebuilt my monk from the ground up. Here are new stats.

850 Resist to all.
35k Health
13k Dps
8k armor (with attack buff)

All I need is a 1k DPS one hander and inferno is going to be my farm status.

I see wizards and shit with 800 dps starting Nightmare.

Define shit stats. Why do you care that much about your stats in normal or even nightmare?
This is what 60-70% magic find got me in normal mode.

I'm not wearing the magic find gear anymore, because it apparently did no good, and I'm dying a lot in DPS gear.

So, I don't see how we are not forced to use AH.

I've been splitting my gold upgrading the blacksmith/jeweler, stash upgrades, and AH. My friends think crafting is useless with the AH... eh, I feel like it would be stupid to neglect upgrading it. Am I stupid for thinking so?

I'm joining public games for NM Act II and I'm surprised how many people out there suck. I'm a WD and I've been paired up with every class, yet they die first during boss battles. I mean... WD isn't bad but you shouldn't be dying before I do. -____-
