RSC 2 only 400,000 units sold worldwide up to March 31 - what's wrong with casual gamers? :(

Btw, sorry if old.

half a mill aint to bad though, is it? and rsc1 nearly did a million? cool. maybe there is hope for a rsc3 one day

I would hope that's the case, but considering DICE belongs to EA now, I doubt it.

oh well I am positive it's been reported. It was in the same mag where Xbox 360 was revealed. Danish Gamereactor. Though it's true we haven't heard anything since.

Calling uneek, can you dig it up :)

Yeah they reported it in the issue where they unveiled the Xbox 360. But they are the only one ever to have ever mentioned it, and no one who could I ask knew anything about this game.

i remember some xbox fansite (xbox365?) had a rumor about it... from that sonic the hedgehod guy if i remember correctly. i think thats where the rumors started.

but trust me, it isnt being worked on now.

MS owns the franchise, so it could be resurrected in the future, but chances are, it wouldnt be made by DICE (for obvious reasons).

In my opinion, Rallisport 2 is the best racer on the Xbox. It's the most fun I had with any racer this generation outside of F-Zero GX.

RSC1 has been a classic budget title for years hough. Atleast here in Europe.

Still very disappointing RSC2 sales. About the same numbers for RSC2 both in America and Europe then I guess. Which is pretty sad. Fucking WRC and Colin is all people seem to care/know about here.

WRC 4 propably sold 2 million+ in Europe.

rsc2 didn't sell as much coz to the casuals, it looked and drove like the first one. true xbl was implemented but that wasn't enuff to make a purchase. i think if DICE put in new features and touted them, it would have sold well i think.

I just don't get why Rallisport 2 did so poorly (relatively). It's accessible, but it has real challenge especially in multiplayer. It's easily the best looking racer this gen. It's packed with content...

A lot of games I like fail with consumers, but this is the only one that endlessly bugs me. I see it at sales all the time for $9.99! Target has it for that right now.

One of my favorite games this gen.

No one else but DICE could develop RSC3. RSC2 is still the (by far) best looking racer to date. I'd prefer not to get RSC3 at all if the only opportunity would be another developer that couldn't match DICE's graphical skills anyway.

Nah, it was because of NFSU and other similar racers completely dominating the racing genre. PGR2 also sold only around half of what the first did. And widespread Xbox piracy ofcourse.

I think that has to do with EA and a known IP.

That's a damn shame that RSC2 only sold 400K units. Volvo used the game, and game soundtrack, in one of their commercials. I guess you can blame part of the low sells to hip-hopster. It's one of the best looking racers this generation. And, IMO, THE best xbl racing game ever.

yeah, i'm actually rooting for EAto get the WRC license so theycan hand it over to DICE :)

Another reason might be that rallye as a sport isn't very popular in the US.
What do the US sales figures of Colin and WRC look like?
