I was given an old beat up copy of Oliver Twist today. The only other experience I had with him was Great Expectations in 10th and A Tale of Two Cities in 12th. It was hell getting through both, but the latter was a little more tolerable. I honestly don't even remember the plot of GE. I remember some characters and events but forgot the main plot(did it have one?). I know he's considered "one of the greats", but I don't think I'm a Charles Dickens fan.

Though I did mist up at the end of ToTC.

Great Expectations is one of my favorite movies of all time. Those who've both seen the movie and read the book say the movie is better.

I loved Great Expectations and The Old Curiosity Shop, but couldn't make it through Our Mutual Friend.
