Did anyone get thug or the EA games?

I got THUG and NFSU. Both are pretty good. I never bought THUG2 on the consoles (hated THUG1), but it has a classic mode and you can play as Wee Man. I mean, you can skateboard as a midget! That's awesome.

I got NFSUR. I gave it an 8 in EGM -- it's pretty good. I'd recommend Ridge Racer first, though (gave that a 9, I believe). It's a better showcase title for your PSP and it's really, really fun.

Got THUG2. Been playing through classic mode and at the final level and I dunno it's good but not great. Like if you're not going to be playing it on the go I'd recommend just getting the console version even though it has 4 less levels.

PSP version:
-Framerate is 30fps instead of 60fps (pretty noticable) and I think it even drops below that a bunch.
-Controls are decent but a DS2 blows this away. Most noticable issue is that turning with the PSP d-pad is kinda slow and not as accurate compared to the DS2. Also having many function mapped to the R button can cause problems at times.
-No volume options >_< I usually turn up the music and turn down the sfx in console ones.
-music sounds pretty bad through headphones, like radio quality or worse. I just play without headphones.

+the new levels seem pretty nice. I like Vegas which is basically just 3 big room sections, Kyoto is pretty huge and has some good stuff. I don't recall the Suburbs being in classic mode so I can't comment and Atlanta while nice, is at night, and thus is full of ghosting and hard to see on the PSP.
-speaking of ghosting, there's quite a lot of it in the game and you really have to keep your eyes 3-5 feet away from the screen or else it's hard to see what's going on.
+despite the control being worse than the DS2 you can still pull off most things.
+lots of objectives between the 2 modes, so good lasting value.
+you can play THUG2 on the go!

If your gonna travel and your a big Tony Hawk player I'd grab this (I got it for airplane flying). But otherwise if you just skipped THUG2 on consoles and were thinking of getting this because it has 4 more levels, get the PS2/Xbox(w/DS2 adapter) version. Hell if I wasn't living in Japan after an hour with the PSP version I would've ran out and bought the PS2 version and left the PSP one for trips only.

I'm surprised that they haven't tried to cram a version over on the DS, since they pushed the GBA pretty damn far with the Hawk series. Heck, you can get Tony Hawk 2, 3, 4, Underground and Underground 2 on it. They made a Tony Hawk game on the N-Gage FFS!

THPS 2 is still my favourite. I've played through THPS3 and THUG too, and have yet to top it :\

I just got THUG2. It is god damn awesome. Note that I haven't played THPS since #3.

The only thing that I hate is the story. It reads like it's been crafted by a bunch of retards. HEY LET'S HAVE BAM AND TONY KIDNAP SKATERS AND LET'S HAVE ONE OF THEM PEE HIMSELF AND HAVE THE OTHER ONE SHIT HIMSELF HUHUHUHU THAT'D BE FUNNY. THEN LET'S HAVE A RETARDED KID IN A WHEELCHAIR AND A BODY BRACE ACT RETARDED HUHUHUHU. Jesus fucking Christ, story mode is repulsive -- Classic Mode please.

Also, Neversoft needs an editor -- the on-screen text is nothing short of atrocious.

Aside from that, the game KICKS ME IN THE PENIS, it's that good. Facial mapping, yeahhh!

Last level of classic mode is brutal. Scores are 500k, 1mil, 1.5mil, combo at 400k. Jeezus. I've been playing the series since the TH1 beta but 1.5 mil!? I think classic mode of THUG2 has got to be a lot tougher than story mode or previous TH games. I can't even imagine it on sick difficulty.

I got NFL street; its OK really - its missing some of the features from the console versions and the loading time is horrendous for a hand held (though most games aren't much better). Otherwise though, the game is excellent.

Did anyone get Tiger Woods? I'm tempted though I really want Hot Shots. I would just like to have a golf game on handheld. I'm finding review reports of loading times on some of the games exaggerated or simply less bothersome than I would have originally thought.

I got Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix for PSP, and am quite pleased with it. The controls take a bit of adjusting to if you're accustomed to the PS2 Tony Hawk games, but otherwise it's really well done.

The story in the story mode is kind of goofy (even compared to the story in the first THUG), but it's still fun to play. Classic mode is a nice throwback to style of play found in the earlier Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, with score goals, S-K-A-T-E and C-O-M-B-O letters, hidden tapes, and such. Both of these modes, along with all of the customization features (which I haven't tried yet), should make this a worthy portable game with lots of long-term play value.

I picked up NFL Street as well. I never played it on the consoles, so I thought I'd give it a try. Load times are bad, but otherwise it's fun. It plays fast and over the top, and the character models look nice up close, but lose detail from a distance. The turf textures look pretty bad, but otherwise I'm enjoying the game. That said, I've been spending a lot more time with Untold Legends, Lumines, and Twisted Metal online.

As for Tiger Woods, I'm tempted to pick it up as well. The reviews were a little harsh, but a few people who posted on here have said the load times don't seem so bad when you are playing and that even though some of the textures look poor in it as well, overall the game plays great and is a lot of fun.

I bought it and I'm enjoying it. The initial load time is very long, but you get used to the loading between courses. Load times aside, the game is very good. The analog nub is precise although it takes a couple of matches to get the center of it just right. Graphically it's jaggy like all EA sports games, but the player models do look nice. Environments are also nice but the downgrade in textures (specifically on trees) is noticeable. Audio is on par with consoles, there's ambient sound, boring announcing, basically what you're used to. Because this is such an easy translation to the PSP (due to only using the nub and the R button when the ball is in flight) I can see why reviewers find it better than the other EA sports titles.

Tony hawk is coming to DS

Personally 1-3 on a cart would be sweet

So it seems like PSP owners don't get everything from THUG2 + 4 new levels. Rather, the 4 new levels replace 4 old ones. You can still unlock the old 4 (finishing classic mode unlocks Downhill Jam). But the 4 missing ones can only be played in Free Skate and have no objectives.

Also I think it's pretty annoying that you can't use your classic mode character in free skate. It sucks since you spend all this time getting all the stat points to max out your guy and then you can't even use him on Downhill Jam. The game very much favors people who play story mode (too bad it's stupid :\) vs. classic mode players.
