Did former president Bush wear an ear piece?

Honestly every President has a speech writer. Even if he is an even biggeridiot than most of us thought I couldn't care less if his canned answers were given to him on paper, teleprompter, psychic powers, or in an ear piece.

I'd be pretty impressed by psychic powers. Based on that alone, I might have voted for him.

Unfortunately, democrats will never let him go. He'll be the scapegoat 30 years from now like how Reagen is today.

Reagan is very well liked among the general public, regardless of his work as president. George Bush is one of the most hated presidents ever. Just as Republicans used the general dislike of Jimmy Carter against Democrats for several decades, Democrats will hold George Bush and his legacy over Republican's heads.

Yet they let Obama continue to carry on his policies willy-nilly.

Wasn't Reagan one of the most hated when he left office? His turnaround was essentially a PR campaign. Bush Jr. was from an idiot, he just played one on TV.

My eyes are BURNING. Most goo-brained post in a long fucking time.

Bulletproof vest explanation seems, well, bulletproof.

Near 60% approval rating, fairly high.

Strangely enough, both Bush's have the highest peak since that poll as introduced.

I remember all this craziness. A number of very obviously left leaning media people tried to hammer the idea he was cheating but it was always a bullet proof vest.

It fit the narrative a number of people in the media had though. That bush was a moron who needed people to speak for him.

Its damn near universal that candidates wear vests particularly if they have received threats prior etc. Secret Service doesn't fuck around.

So was this just a conspiracy theory
Yes. A stupid one.

2.) Gore almost certainly would have won

No he wouldn't have.

A study of the 10,644 ballots in Miami-Dade County that recorded no machine-readable vote for president found that Al Gore would have gained a mere 49 votes, even if the most liberal standard for counting a vote (a “faintly dimpled chad”) were used.

The Herald concludes that if Mr Gore’s request for a manual recount in Miami-Dade and three other Florida counties had been granted, the election outcome would not have changed.

Study of Disputed Florida Ballots Finds Justices Did Not Cast the Deciding Vote

A comprehensive review of the uncounted Florida ballots from last year's presidential election reveals that George W. Bush would have won even if the United States Supreme Court had allowed the statewide manual recount of the votes that the Florida Supreme Court had ordered to go forward.

Contrary to what many partisans of former Vice President Al Gore have charged, the United States Supreme Court did not award an election to Mr. Bush that otherwise would have been won by Mr. Gore.

I refer you to my previous post in the thread because it addresses precisely these things--that, prior to SCOTUS's decision, the recount that would have taken place (one that went beyond what Gore or even the Florida Supreme Court mandated) would have almost certainly handed Gore the win. My post also points out that the NORC numbers (which is where the claims in your links stem from) don't actually add up, something that they acknowledged being puzzled by.

Also, it's not like the candidates or the Secret Service are going to run out and announce details of the candidate's security methods. You can see the bulges under both candidates' jackets in one of the photos. Bush's jackets just were not tailored well enough to mask the vest.

It's probably just his reptilian spine poking through the jacket. George Bush is obviously one of the illuminati.

Kerry has a similar bulge in this photo.
That's because he's also remote controlled, duh

This thread is dumb. You are the same type of people that complain about teleprompters and Obama's birth certificate. Stupidity is not bound by party lines.

Stop grasping at stupid shit and worry about shit that matters.

Versus 9/11 was an inside job? Left has just as crazy nuts. Every group has equal crazies.

Also this. Occam's razor people.

Occam's razor applies perfectly well to the radio conspiracy.

1. Poorly spoken candidate with frequent verbal flubs.
2. Position of power so valuable a radio mic is a trivial investment.
3. Official response was NOT bullet proof vest, Ben though that would have been perfectly satisfactory (insurance made me do it).
4. Firm belief by both sides he was most at risk in ad hoc questioning.
5. Lots of bizarre pauses and stares. All documented.

Personally I have no idea, but Occam's Razor doesn't get him a free pass.

I think we are going to need a super-crazy Republican candidate to win 2012 so that leftist netizens can keep chasing that dragon.

After doing some more reading this seems like another interesting possibility:

"George W. Bush apparently is wearing a medical device for "persons at risk of cardiac arrest." It is a LifeVest wearable defibrillator. He started using it sometime after his January 2002 fainting spell, which was attributed to choking. Based on photos showing him wearing the device, one can conclude the fainting was due to atrial fibrillation (AF), which his father also had. His father's AF was caused by Graves' hyperthyroidism, which his mother also has. Bush likely has AF and less likely Graves', based on his family history and symptoms. The AF may have caused a stroke or TIA (mini-stroke), of which physicians watching the debates detected symptoms. Observers have noted psychological symptoms consistent with this and with Wernicke-Korsakoff disease."

Would explain why he is wearing it while on his ranch:

The interview when hes driving around in his truck I can remember. They basically bullshitted and shot the breeze about how nice his ranch is and if I recall it was after he was out of office. I doubt he needed a radio to say yeah man I love my ranch

Nor would he need a bullet proof vest. That is why I now lean towards the medical device argument.

So it wasn't a pretzel that caused him to faint back then?
