I bought a Cobalt blue gameboy sp as a gift from bestbuy a week ago that touts a "new built-in side lighted screen"on the back of the box.

At target today, i saw a pearl blue gameboy advance sp that had a "now with brighter back lit screen" wording on the front, and "built in backlit screen" on the back.

Are they the same, or is the one I bought from target a newer model? IF they are different is one better than the other. Sorry if there is an obvious answer. I havent kept up with any new iterations of the gameboy advance sp.

I think those are different, but I'm not sure. Pearl blue and the dark gray (forget the actual name) are the two new backlit versions.

The Cobalt SPs are frontlit.

Just know that backlit >>>>>>> frontlit and you should be fine.

oaky, thanks for the info, i bought the cobalt one last week at best buy for 79.99. Im gonna go return it and get the pearl blue one at target. Was 10 bucks cheaper too. Thanks GAF for keeping me informed!
