the fap-me goodness of that intro FMV? Hawt cg. Really really expensive I reckon. Beautiful sexy ships + sexy human models that look great.

Haven't played much but I am trying to go into the game with an open mind (bar reviews comments)... anyone liked it? I wasn't too sure about

a) continue system.... like an arcade game
b) shooting at dinos off the screen.

I bought this during Circuit Citys $5 sale and there was no disc inside. Returned it,after being called a thief by the manager, got another copy, opened it in front of her and again no disc.

I sure hope you gave the manager a very sublimed, very cold fuck you.

That happened to me once with a GBA game. The bastard employee told me I probably stole the game and was trying to cheat them-- like I fucking have nothing better to do than swindle $10 out of an EB 20 miles away.

No no no no no. Dino Crisis 3 was that bad, Capcom pulled the discs before being packed in.

I liked Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2...I was looking forward to Dino Crisis 3...Then I played it. Seriously, they came up with the most generic character, added a generic storyline and environments, crapped on the gameplay, made the camera worse than the past games, and called it Dino Crisis 3.

wasn't this a game by Production Studio 3?

Their trackrecord is a lot worse than 1 and 4...
Yep...

Production Studio 4

Dino Crisis 2

You aren't being serious are you?

The hype surrounding it and the screens/tidbits being revealed at the time looked very promising and cool. It was also being developed exclusively for the xbox giving it even more potential (technically at least). I thought it would be great too, at least early in the dev cycle-- very similar to Brute Force. The more they showed however the worse it looked.

I learned my lesson anyway.

Stinker. Played it for a first and last time all at once.

Despite its flaws, I got through it and liked it. Part of that might be the cinemas as they are surprisingly plentiful and simply never let up on the quality right through to the end.

Too bad the game itself didn't turn out well, because the movie production team's efforts deserved more recognition.

Dino Crisis 3 is not Dino Crisis. The game mechanics was changed to suit xbox gamers but the result is a crap game with uplayable camera system. Play DC1 and DC2, you'll like them!

One of the reasons I was anticipating the game so much is because I pictured a continuation of the DC1~2 formula with amazing xbox graphics. When they started talking more about the jet packs and space-dinosaurs (I'm getting my press-release chronology screwed up, but whatever) I started becoming progressively more skeptical, but still hopeful. When the first videos were released I knew it was doomed to suck.

Definitely, the lack of direct continuation of story for either Regina or Dylan in DC3 was an early sign of potential disappointment. I do however sort of like the different Event Horizon/Alien feel of DC3. But obviously that was not expected of the next Dino Crisis.

Ultimately, Dino Stalkers provided some storyline followup for DC2, but itself isn't much to recommend as a game (and interestingly the cinemas are almost the opposite in quality to DC3...).

DC2 remains excellent, great action. I'm likely one of very few who has enjoyed DC2 so much over the years that I even actually played through the PC version, which is only really playable by keyboard. This despite having a 6 run-through gamesave on PS1...

wow. the cinemas continue right through the title? I might have to play through it just to see it all. I was REALLY impressed with the game's CG sequences. Very very polished. WTH is up with having so much of it done?

Anyone know what the budget Capcom spent on this was? It must have been big and they must have expected to sell like a bazillion and one copies.

That's gold, i can just imagine the look on the guy's face. Btw, you got the good version of the game.

The opening CG only made the game's mediocrity that much more obvious! The CG gets you pumped, while the actual game deflates you.

Yes, there are many, most of them not too short either. There are like 5 or so sprinkled through the end-run alone that are awesome.

Again, a damned shame that it was wrapped in a game that not many people will have played through. Kudos to the movie production team, while they, Capcom (and indeed Microsoft) probably remain quite unhappy with the critically panned end result from the gameplay producers.
