(Disappointing) PSP usage stats REVEALED!

We damn well know the DS wins in Japan, but I just wish Nintendo can claim its power in the US, and I really think itll happen, wait till the GBA dies.. guess where those kids are gonna go.. straight for the DS..
Why exactly do you wish that? Both deserve equal support.

Yusaku is the definition of a typical gamer in the US, caring about image more then gameplay.
I hope you are not attempting to suggest that image is NOT important in Japan...

I'll rephrase that as a global problem. There's gamers like that everywhere. And on the same note, there are dorks who buy an ipod and wear it specifically as a fashion accessory.

It's a market, and Nintendo is going to be tapping into it with their Micro and maybe we'll see a redesigned DS down the road. But I don't really think people who think like that should be taken seriously.

Because people like us who obsess over games (a frivolous pastime) somehow deserve to be taken more seriously than someone concerned with image? That's some perspective you've got there.

No, because people who wear electronics as fashion accessories don't use their accessory enough to know what the hell they're talking about.

Uh-huh, so anyone who expresses an interest in the fashionability of a device can't possibly know enough about the functionality of the device?

Just what exactly is wrong with the PSP lineup? I'm still unable to figure why it is constantly slammed for its library...

There ARE quite a few really good games currently on the machine as well as plenty of decent titles to go along with it. The main issue is that it has seen a release drought since its launch period. That should not suddenly negate its current library, however.

The fall looks to offer plenty of good games as well.

It seems like a backlash to me with many people jumping on board who have not given it a chance.
Once again, it's Sony's "GameCube". :)

Be patient with jarrod, he'll find the right context for his pet generalization of the moment sooner or later ;)

:lol at the people upset by my post. It's not about looking cool, it's about not looking like a douche. I've never seen anyone older than 12 play a gameboy in public, and that includes college campuses and other gamer-populated places.

People don't see the PSP as a toy that an adult has no business playing, but a cool new gadget. Sorry if I can't enjoy a game if I'm feeling self-conscious because everyone is looking at me thinkg "why is that 25 year old guy playing Pokemon?" I don't know how PezRadar thinks that means I don't care about gameplay, it just means I enjoyed my GBA in the privacy of my own home.

I don't see the psp or the ds in any capacity having any difference in terms of pussy garnishment. I'd say they are the same thing in that idiotic metric. A chick will not: "I'd fuck that guy if only his ds were a psp" That is fucking insane. If a chic has a beef about a ds she will have the same beef about a psp.

I just saw a guy no older than 40 play Pokemon blue on his (normal) GBA about a week ago on the public bus system. I certainly didn't think he looked like a douche, and the other 30-35 year old guy playing his GBA SP at the same time in a different part of the bus probably wasn't thinking that way either.

But nice try generalizing the GBA audience. And it's also nice knowing for sure that your habit in video games is influenced more by public image than the enjoyment of quality entertainment. It makes it that much easier for real gamers to mock you and others like you ;)

except that there is some semblance of 3rd part support on the PSP

the list king of all people should know that ;)
Same thing for GameCube in early 2002... Resident Evil franchise (exlcusive), Ridge Racer 6, Soul Calibur 2, New Tales (exclusive), Mr Driller, Disney Sports, Super Monkey Ball, Sonic Adventure 2, Phantasy Star Online, Virtua Striker 3, Beach Spikers, WE6, Yu-Gi-OH!, One Piece, Gundam, Hikaru no Go, Croquet, Shaman King, etc... even Square and Enix support publicly committed to the platform. It was a steep decline once those games hit market and weren't putting up the numbers hoped though... best wishes for Sony's handheld future. ;)

Most systems have a lot of initial support. Then they throw some piece of shit game out, it sells like crap, and then they run for the hills.
