Michele

you.
This is probably going to sound whiny from me, but hear me out. They released a new feature again; the stickers. Guess what, it's nitro only. That I can get behind with, I don't really care much for that...

The problem however, is that they put yet another feature on the full Nitro subscription. Nitro Classic are excluded, once again. To add insult to injury, they promised that when stickers released again, both nitro and nitro classic users would be able to use stickers, but now it's only full nitro users. It was last year october.

I am not complaining because we free or non nitro users want that sticker system too; I am complaining because it feels like every new feature that are for nitro, is being shoehorned into the new bigger subscription, while leaving out the nitro classic users in the dust. It feels like the value of classic is losing value. That's half the price of a full nitro for what, like 1/3 or so the full nitro features? It would've been nice if classic can put images in profile banner, and full nitro users can put in animated image on profile banner. But oh well, they wouldn't listen anyways...

What are your thoughts on Nitro classic losing value?

I use Discord every day and never once heard or seen Nitro. Guess I have blinders on or something.

So what is Discord Nitro?

LoL, k, people pay for that?

Forums are outdated

Discord is the future

I have a 3 month free trial of nitro

It's really made interacting in my servers more fun, particularly the animated emojis and using enojis between servers

I think I might maintain my sub afterwards

Discord doesn't run ads even for free users, and it hosts millions of users for free with voice and video.

They barely break even dude (I know people in the founding engineering team). If you want things to be free, perhaps you are okay with them sharing your data with the ad world, and trust me, you don't want that; I work in the ad industry and we treat users like cows going into the slaughter.

Also, Discord adding features to their paid option is not the same as the free option losing features. This kind of "everything should be free" attitude from users is why we have companies like Facebook and Google harvesting the data of people to sell it to third parties and ruining the world.
