Disney has been hacked, 1TB Stolen

Wow. Thats wild. I did some work for an affiliated studio and the security measures disney made us take were insane. Wonder how the hack happened.

Until the hackers find Disney's program that just takes up a few GB and spits out procedurally generated content, it won't matter. For every TB they steal, 20 more will take its place

It's Slack chats. So lots of memes and gifs.

"According to the group 'Nullbulge,' the group has gained access to the company's internal Slack, in which 1.1TB of data—including unreleased projects, concept arts, login details, and personal details—is said to have been compromised."

You don't send vendors like Disney 'unreleased projects' in anything except relatively low res, watermarked versions - usually for localisation. You might send high res clips for marketing, trailers etc. Masters, even for TV are multi-TB. The total project size before delivery can be anywhere between 100-400 TB in size. A DCDM (tiff sequence for a film) is many tens of TB.

Some of the worst stuff you don't want to put into email gets discussed in Slack. Hoping for some good stuff to come out.

Hope we get leaks of future MCU stuff since I'm interested in seeing if Disney is gonna to double/triple down on certain stuff when putting that stuff in makes it sell less. Especially when they know it doesn't sell

Cyber-economic warfare. Western/American adversaries are trying to take down our economies via the death of a thousand pinpricks.
This better be a foreign actor, otherwise the poor fella is probably going the way the GTA6 hacker went.
