We have similar ads over here but they focuse more on blood and the car crash, not on the consecuences. This one is way more morbid and shocking but also much better, I like it and I think we should copy it.

For those of us who can't view videos at the moment, which advert is this? The one with pizza? The one with the little girl?

Awesome-this would work in the US if networks weren't so scared of the FCC
Surely no sane person could object to a road safety commercial, there must be ads like this in the US.

There are obviously, but I doubt they'll be as "up front" as this one...

I think this one's good, because it doesn't end on the same sinister note is started out on, but it's still unpleasant enough to have an impact.

I think some of them are almost too unpleasant to watch.

The one where that blokes in the pub and his mate gets him another pint is pretty bad, he starts smiling at some bird then she gets ran over in the middle of the pub by like an invisible car and shes dead staring at him.

Pretty bad.

That's the kind of commercial that works. Shock the people into changing.
Why are they using miles per hour? I thought the British used kilometers, like us here in Canada.

Wait, I don't get why/how she moved from the tree to the road?

It's showing the difference between what happened to her at 40mph (up against the tree, broken) and 30mph (in the road, alive).

This one is the most disturbing IMO. Previous campaigns like the rear safety-belt one were also pretty effective, but this one with the little girl gets the most important message across efficiently.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one, still, I'm not sure if they were showing that one during the day like they are with the other one.

Nah, they`re the only europeans using the stupid MPH. I think they use all the stupid american measurements, like yards and that crap. Then again they also drive at the wrong side of the road.

Yes. The British started to use these American measurements shortly after we copied their language.

The girl slamming in the table is brutal. Nasty, but effective. The one with the little kid is just scary as hell :(

Firstly, we don't - miles and pints are the only imperial measurements still used (officially) in the UK. And if you want my pint of beer you'll have to pry it out of my cold dead (drunk) hands.

Secondly, whose empire do you think Imperial measurements such as 'yards and that crap' are named after? Hmmm? We use our own stupid measurements, not anyone else's.

That one gets me more than the others.

The pub one doesn't get me as much as the little girl one does- that's intense. Too bad my country is stuck in Puritanical Insanity Mode these days.

The one where the small kid gets flattened by a spinning car *queue daffodil cutting* always gives me a smile. I'm not evil its just I don't take it seriously at all

No love for the miserable kid bitching about his girlfriend going out with someone else? I think it's this one (though I'm at work, so can't check).

Never seen that one with the little girl, I'm sitting alone in my house, and it actually scared me.

Wasn't particularly shocked by the pub one, the one above I thought was kinda cool first time I saw it.

UK advertising kicks ass though, there's that cribs inspired one with some girl who looks like Kylie showing you around her house, then she steps outside and gets hit by an invisible car, cut to UK road. "Don't die before you've lived".

And the non-road related one, advertising fire alarms.

Going through things you forget in everyday life, wallet, umbrella, keys. Batteries in your smoke alarm. Cut to man outside house crying. Tributes to wife and child outside. "Push the button. Not your luck."

That one made me feel really sad first time I saw it.

That's a great one, though I saw the twist coming really early on. Never seen it before, guess it's quite new.

Along the lines of safety ads, I thought the smoking one that showed you the gunk that builds up inside a smokers arteries was pretty effective (well, I've never smoked so I'm not sure how effective it was for those who do smoke)...
