The controversy back in the day was not them. It was right wing cancel culture, something that a lot of people forget existed. They said they don't support the war in Iraq and were blacklisted by tons of radio stations, and attacked on Fox News.
I think most people now don't support the war, and they had the guts to speak honestly about it when it was clearly dangerous to do so 17 years ago (and the war is STILL going on).
They could have changed their name to Chix with Dix
I see I wasn't the only one! Ah Dixie Chicks, the Chicks with Dicks. Their popularity drove my ears insane, and were the first ones to inspire me in pulling a Weird Al on lots of their music.I always called them the chix with dix
I didnāt even see the other response when I wrote mine lolI see I wasn't the only one! Ah Dixie Chicks, the Chicks with Dicks. Their popularity drove my ears insane, and were the first ones to inspire me in pulling a Weird Al on lots of their music.
"Big butts, fat sluts! oh oh oh oh ohhh! Get in the action, see the attraction. Do them again, do them again...."
Sadly, my notes have been lost to time
Yea or Dicks in Chicks. Why not āDix?ā
Yeah, still haven't figured that out. What's wrong with the word Dixie?

Yep, they got fucked. Hardcore republicans are massive hypocrites when it comes to cancel culture.
Yes it is.
Wow. They are getting better at this
What say you Winn Dixie?
"At Southeastern Grocers, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive culture and community that promotes belonging, inclusion and diversity. As such, we stand against racism and support the Black Lives Matter movement across our country."
To my fellow Alita fan brethren and other random dude, this is actually not entirely the truth.
They were largely ignored in main stream country because of the things they said about the president, not the war.
They called our President all kinds of names while on foreign soil - and that didnāt go over well in main stream country.
They then went on a tirade against country, changed āback toā blue grass and āleftā current country.
Respectfully, it wasnāt as simple as they disagreed with the war.
Not trying to start a fight, just wanted to point out some misinformation.

This isn't parody.
EDIT: Turns out is was a parody lol.
true man. It may seem shocking, butmost of these celebs jumping on board are doing this for their bank accounts. THAT shouldn't be shocking at all in today's world. If that move appeals to their core audience it makes sense. Have to remember that this is about marketing and brand management, not about morality.
