Dixie Chicks change their name to The Chicks

The controversy back in the day was not them. It was right wing cancel culture, something that a lot of people forget existed. They said they don't support the war in Iraq and were blacklisted by tons of radio stations, and attacked on Fox News.

I think most people now don't support the war, and they had the guts to speak honestly about it when it was clearly dangerous to do so 17 years ago (and the war is STILL going on).

Yep, they got fucked. Hardcore republicans are massive hypocrites when it comes to cancel culture.

They could have changed their name to Chix with Dix
I always called them the chix with dix
I see I wasn't the only one! Ah Dixie Chicks, the Chicks with Dicks. Their popularity drove my ears insane, and were the first ones to inspire me in pulling a Weird Al on lots of their music.
"Big butts, fat sluts! oh oh oh oh ohhh! Get in the action, see the attraction. Do them again, do them again...."
Sadly, my notes have been lost to time

To my fellow Alita fan brethren and other random dude, this is actually not entirely the truth.

They were largely ignored in main stream country because of the things they said about the president, not the war.

They called our President all kinds of names while on foreign soil - and that didnā€™t go over well in main stream country.

They then went on a tirade against country, changed ā€œback toā€ blue grass and ā€œleftā€ current country.

Respectfully, it wasnā€™t as simple as they disagreed with the war.

Not trying to start a fight, just wanted to point out some misinformation.

These women haven't socially mattered since their failed attempt to slam a president.

They should rename themselves as the Beverages and Restroom breaks and be done with it.

its kind of the same pandering that brands do. this is getting picked up by news outlets and if you google it they already show up on the sidebar with their new name.

and people are at least now talking about them so they are getting an audience. i think its dumb but if they can squeeze a couple more nickels out of the industry can't really blame them.

All the main singer said was that she was ashamed President Bush was from Texas at a concert, then country radio refused to play them and killer their career. Hardly called him all kinds of names

Faith Hill just said she wants the confederate flag removed from Mississippi State flag. Wonder if her and Tim will be canceled too.
Not that she is relevant anymore anyway, but will be interesting to see.

If that move appeals to their core audience it makes sense. Have to remember that this is about marketing and brand management, not about morality.

true man. It may seem shocking, butmost of these celebs jumping on board are doing this for their bank accounts. THAT shouldn't be shocking at all in today's world.
