Purple might be going a bit far, but I work for a fashion-focused conglomerate, you can get away with a lot if you keep it semi-dressy at least. No graphic t-shirts or anything like that.

This reminds me, I think I'm behind in shoe trends. I've basically been wearing non-slick work shoes 90% of the time outside of work because hey why not.

What am I supposed to wear casually these days? I only ever wore sneakers/athletic shoes when I was younger.

listen some of us live in Austin, Texas, it's hot 80% of the year, b. We can't be walking around in layers, flannel, blazers, sweaters, and heavy dark wash denim all the time, b. Or even most of the time. We gotta stay cool out here when its 80 degrees 80% of the time.

The poll should have pleated pants on there too.

I feel like the cargo shorts people should learn from pleated pants.

When presented with 2 pairs of pants, why do men always choose pleated pants? Then they all go further and get too big of pants and cinch that shit up with a belt. Makes even tall dudes look squatty with dumb giant legs and a small torso. There's some specific old timey looks that require pleated pants but all these dumb khaki's with pleats should be burned in a big pile with cargo shorts. When I got my first job in High School at Sears I would wear pleated pants until my sister confronted me and I couldn't answer why I chose pleated either.

I gave them up and this is honestly what people should do with cargo shorts. They're ok for hiking and outdoor activities but are completely unflattering for every other occasion. You don't need to bring every generation of Nintendo handheld with you but you might need a bunch of knives and shit in the wild so take the cargo shorts hiking.

I dress like like a casual asshole hipster and my knowledge of formal wear is non-existent but I know what people should avoid day to day.

I'm not doubting you here, but how do you know this? Do you just read fashion stuff? Are you making assumption based on what you see other people wearing? Or did you just go buy shoes and saw a billion of shoes in this style?

I'm mostly asking because every time I see anyone on here post some article of clothing that's trendy more often than not it looks ridiculous and I actually like these shoes.

They hold up, Clark's makes really well wearing and comfortable shoes.

I read Men's fashion blogs mostly, but these types of shoe aren't really trendy in as much as they work with a casual weekend style, always will. I just like this particular one from Clark's.

They really only work with chino shorts or jeans. Any kind of more dressy pant and these shoes fall apart visually.
