Do you answer calls from numbers you don't recognize?

Very rarely. For the numbers that don't look right, I'll wait until it stops before googling it; then usually discover it's been reported.

Nope, my phone automatically answers them and blocks if appropriate.... Call Screening is probably my favorite Pixel feature

Somebody put my phone number on a form and now I get spam texts addressed to someone else. There are days where I’ll get messages from 20 different numbers.

Nope. In 99% of the cases it's a telemarketer or a scam (I know because I google some numbers). The remaining 1% can text me.

Nope. That's why polling over the phone is such a shit show. You're only getting people dumb enough to pick up for an unknown number and then engage in a conversation instead of just hanging up.

Nope. There is really no reason for anyone to call me. Even if it's "urgent", it's 2020. We have so many possible ways of communicating, there is no reason to use a method that expects me to instantly drop everything I'm doing, because you need to talk to me right now. How rude.

I kinda have too. Got a lot of contacts with doctors due to health reasons. Many which use hidden numbers.

I use Trucaller which works well at letting you know if it's just spam for your service provider or some other company.
Other than that I do mostly answer .

In a nutshell, no. Unless I'm waiting for a call from a company or something.

If they leave a voicemail I will listen to it but 99% of those are even robo calls.

I don't know how it is in the rest of the world but in the US spam calls are relentless and there's literally no way to stop it. I read something like 80% of all mobile phone calls placed are telemarketing or robo calls. I easily get 4-5 a day on average

Also we are in peak election season now too which ramps up the number of unknown callers. So add that to the numbers above and I'm probably clicking Ignore on about 8-10 calls daily if I manage to see it coming in.

Sure, why not. If it’s bullshit I can hang up. It could be someone I know trying to reach me on a different phone.

It depends
If i recognize the number and it comes from around the cities/villages nearby, based on the number code, it might be a small company calling me because we had contact in the past.
If it is a random cellphone number, or the number code points toward a large company, sales calls or others, i usually ignore or block them.
If the number is suppressed i never pick up. If someone has something to hide I don't see why they deserve to speak to me.

The worst is when a bot calls for a survey. I do not care to talk to machines. Even Siri commands feel weird to me.

Not unless I'm waiting for a business to call.

Lately it's been IT recruiters trying to get me to take significantly lesser paying jobs doing more work than I currently do.

Yes.

If I don't like what I hear I hang up.

What kind of a pussy phone dodges? Someone could be calling you about something urgent.
If its important a message a should be left. I am not going to pick up the phone 500 times a day.

I just got a call from a toll-free number, so the first thing I did was to google the number. There wasn't any relevant information that came up.

I decided to just ignore the call.

Now I am wondering if I should call back.

Yes, I have to answer unknown numbers because your mom likes to use burner phones.
