Electric. I have a generator for when the power goes out, oven isn't connected but I have a air fryer/toaster oven that will get me through a power outage assuming my propane grill is unusable.

Electric, I just replaced my range. The one I got is pretty nice although the cook top can be difficult to clean.

Use a melamine sponge, it does an amazing job! Or use a pumice stone, also does a great job. No chemical cleaners needed. If it's a glass top go with the sponge. If it's that glossy style metal top, use the pumice stone. My stove looks brand new every time I use the pumice stone.

I use the melamine sponge on the glass door of my large toaster and the metal surround and it looks brand new.

The pumice stone I use for the black glossy metal top many gas stoves have, and it gets rid of even the toughest stains/burned grease.

It is glass, I will get my dishwasher a new sponge. Are those just Magic Erasers?

Had an electric (IH) stove installed about 3 years ago. Have to say it is incredible. Life changing even. Honestly I could never go back to a gas stove.

The number one reason to have an IH stove: Easier to clean by by 1000%! My god you just wipe it down and you are done! The precious hours of my life I have lost cleaing up messes on gas stoves. Those days are over now!

Yes, Magic Erasers is the brand name. You can get a ton of them generic for dirt cheap. I also use them on the inside of my fish tank and makes the glass nice and clean from algae growth. They are really quite versatile.

Electric, unfortunately.

I just bought a top of the line induction stove, which is great but I still wish I had gas.

If it wasn't such a hassle to have the lines run in the house I would have switched to gas a long time ago.

Induction is far better than gas, take it from someone who upgraded to induction from gas. You're in good shape there, trust me. Extremely efficient energy transfer, about 95% depending on the cookware used, and far safer in terms of air quality. There's a reason why gas is being made illegal for new buildings in much of the world.

I have induction. Was very tempted to get gas but was worried my cats would jump on of it and burn themselves. Damn, induction heats up fast though. (Much faster than the old electric stove.)

Electric, but I'm not American. Honestly, having a gas one would freak me out. I only use gas whennI'm camping.

Gas. I could use higher BTU one as I'm learning to use wok for Chinese cooking.
.. and better ventilation in the house.

Induction type seem to become more popular these days, but I'm little old school...

Electric.

Gas is noticeably more fun to cook with, but gas stovetops are absolute pigs to clean and even when used properly quite bad for you in terms of air quality (might as well go around huffing exhaust fumes).

Electric. In fact I just replaced my range with a brand new GE model with built-in air frying and self steam cleaning capabilities.

Where I live there's no natural gas service and delivered propane is too expensive to burn for everyday cooking. I have an outdoor propane grill with burners I can use to cook if the power goes out and I always have a couple of full tanks on hand in case I need it. When I've had a power outage my power is normally the first to be restored because my service runs directly from the main delivery lines. After the hurricane last year I had power back within 10 hours where other places took many days.

Had gas but upgraded a few years back to Induction. Cleaning is way easier as you're just wiping down a slate of glass as opposed to pulling apart the stove top and cleaning every nook and cranny.

Also don't have to worry about it being left on overnight.

Gas where I am. We have a backup generator, but it's always possible for a winter storm to knock things out for several days

Gas at my current home, and I love it. My previous house had an electric stove with the wire dial burners from the old times and it was a PITA.

I assume the modern electrics are great.

Electric and if I lose power then I can just use my gas grill or solar powered cooker. I'm not against gas stoves, but I'm kinda glad there isn't an explosive gas fed into my house.
