I used to not like watermelon until I discovered salting it. If you've never tried it or think you don't like watermelon, give it a try, you might be surprised.

Sometimes I put salt on it. If the watermelon is sweet enough, no salt needed, of course.... But sometimes when it needs a bit of boost, and a dash of salt usually does the job.

One of my biggest issues with watermelon, and why it should never be considered a top tier fruit is its variance. S tier fruit like apples and bananas will always deliver a very consistent flavor all things being equal.

You could get a shit watermelon, simply because it's a shit watermelon. Same for cantaloupe.
