Team Ninja head Tomonobu revealed that not only was he working on DOAX 2, a sequel to Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, but that it's already complete enough to run on an Xbox. The game will eventually be moved over to the 360 for development, but the fact that the game is up and running in some form means that it could see release as early as 2006.

DOAX 2 is about customization and collection, just like the first, but the volleyball will return. Team Ninja is refining its volleyball game and adding several other sports, though its unknown which will see the light of day...
More good news for xbotz.

I'd be more excited about this if doa4 didn't look so disappointing (same ol low detail models). Hopefully they will at least add some skin texture in this or perhaps some advanced shader to simulate glistening skin when suntan lotion is applied :D

Yes, a better volleyball game!! That's exactly what I needed.

Oh who am I kidding. HD Boobies!!! :D

What everyone really wants to say is that Team Ninja has gone down the drain...

You'll be one of the first in line for Ninja Gaiden 2 and you know it!

This is cool and all, but now DoAX2 may bump back the release of Ninja Gaiden 2? Damn it. :(

One thing I thought was missing from the original was that you could suntan, but you didn't get any tanlines from the swimsuit. I don't know, just spoiled the effect of it, a bit. (Although that might agitate some gamers when they go to change swimsuits.)

Exactly as I stated earlier. This is likely what is going on with DoA4...they started on Xbox (hence the models) using a form of the DoAU engine and are now upgrading it as they get better devkits. I fully expect the game to see a major change in graphics when it's released in November.

Man no shit.

But Team Ninja only has NG and that's it. Even still, I think they can improve the combat system to not have those XYXY YXYYXY based moves. Too Nanobreaker-ish.

They are wasting time making shit like DoA4 and DoAX2, when they should be making the game where at the least a handful of people give a shit about.

And yes, I will be the first person in line, I'll get that game before you >_<

You didnt catch DOA:XV launch in Japan did you? Streets were lined with otaku's

I reckon Ms pushed for the sequal, it'll sell Xbox's. I think its the most successful J game for Xbox in Japan

haha, i made a post earlier today on SRK on how they should just scrap DOA4 and make another volleyball game. AWESOME! :D

I'm all for this as long as they put a 4 player mode in, and have more stuff you can do on the island. The pool minigame and casino were a start but I want more. Bike riding, roller skating... I want DOA California Games.

i jsut want more ways to look at titties.

WHATEVER IT TAKES, yoga or bowling, whatever. TITTIES!

BEST E3 NEWS YET!!!
...unless it's a guys-only version with TeamNinjaBounceEngine technology (r), then it's WORST E3 NEWS EVAR!!!

:barf:

imo i think team ninja uses doax as a tech demo/r&d for ninja gaiden, its not 'incredibly important' to some, but it earns decent profit while being a stepping stone before ninja gaiden.

i hope there's live play with the casino, 4 player maybe 4 on 4 or something, lots of mini games.. make this doax party volleyball.

more emphasis on customizing/collecting ala animal crossing or something.

they also need voyeur mode, i mean damn.. like those playing cards. allow people to dress up their characters take and take pictures in different poses, make it a mini-game or have it worth money or something. I'm sure with more depth it could be very interesting. either that or some kind of fashion show or something.

imagine showing your friend a pic of your outfit, will be a big hit with the female market.
