Does anyone still actually own a Gamecube?

Still have it and I doubt I sell it...Not because there are tons of games nor because it has the best lineup ever but because I never sell my systems. Anyways the lineup wasn't that bad: RE0, RE, RE4, Pikmin, F-Zero GX, DK:JB were awesome games :)

Oh Driiiiiiinkyyyyy.....

It's coming for you....

You can't deny it. Game of the Fucking Year. You may as well accept it.

Still have it. Currently playing f-zero and after a few psx/ps2 games (silent hill, xenogears, zoe2, ace combat 4, and mgs3) I want to finish I'll start a new game of Pikmin 2 and also go through Paper Mario. Maybe play mario sunshine for more than 10 minutes too, I never got past the hub world in that one heh.

Oh yeah and I still haven't connected my Gameboy Player to it yet. :)

You gotta have it for your prescribed daily dose of F-Zero GX.
And that is indeed why my GC isn't going anywhere! Also RE4, Fire Emblem, Zelda, Pimin, Metroid, and the superior Monkey Ball titles further cement the GC into my living room. Sorry Drinky. :(

Edit: Crap! Forgot Ikaruga, DK:JB, and SC2. OK...So the last one isn't exclusive. It is still good!

I dunno; beating out the DDS/DDS2 pairing for GotY's gonna be tough. Besides, if I hand out my GotY based entirely on time spent with a game, Dynasty Warriors 5 has the lock. On top of that, there's Soul Calibur 3 on the horizon, and OMG OMG Romancing Saga totally owns me right now.

I'll snag a used 'cube when Zelda comes out for the asking price, and I'll just hold onto my copy of FE until then.

Don't you have Romancing SaGa to buy still?

My Gamecube is my 2D Wayback Machine with the Game Boy Player! But the DS is rapidly taking that title. Now I leave the GCN at my gf's house so she can play Paper Mario 2 and Fire Emblem when it comes out.

Actually it is, sadly, my only system this gen, though I play exclusives from the other systems on my roomates systems (mostly halo 2 and the metal gear solid series). I still play it almost daily for some ikaruga action

Think the last game I played on it was...hrm...Megaman Network Transmission, during the fabled circuit city $5 deal. Before that, MGS:TTS (6.8), then Wind Waker (yay sailing, good thing I could post on GAF at the same time), and firstly Metroid Prime, which I bought the system for (*drives samus tank around locking on and scanning things*).

Worst console ever.

I tried to sell the thing a couple of years ago, after Zelda: WW kicked me in the nads with its second half. A guy in Australia bought it, and I shipped it express mail with insurance and everything. Either it was misdelivered by inept Aussie postal service workers or the guy just didn't pick it up from customs because he didn't want to pay the duties, but it was marked undeliverable and I assumed it had been left as abandoned.

I filed an insurance claim on the thing after the grace period on delivery ran out, and it was a couple of months in-process when the goddamn box showed up on my doorstep. I cancelled the claim and realized there'd be no getting rid of the thing (like a jilted lover beyond the grave), so it stayed.

I got my girlfriend hooked on Harvest Moon (AWL), and keeping the GC on a separate monitor keeps there from being conflict over the PS2 setup. Besides, it's worth keeping around to see if an English version of the next HM for GC comes out. Other than that, it's a dedicated Mercenaries/Drill Land/PN03 machine.

i know. i cant fathom how anyone can like such a rubbish series. no matter how much nintendo hate+sony love you do have

:D i have one casue it my only system, still getting games for it, import titles naruto 4 blech gc, mario strikers, battalion wars. fire emblem and of course Zelda TP

I don't have any actual Sony love, but I'd go gay for Koei. For the record, Japan loves Dynasty Warriors, too -- and vastly moreso than crap like Metroid Prime and Jungle Beat!

I bought mine launch day, still have it. I played the shit out of except for this past year, I only play it for Mario Baseball, and Smash Brothers. Occasionally I play rounds of other games but those are the majority of what I play on it. Before all is said and done I'm going to get Mario Strikers, Zelda, Megaman X collection, and that one Kirby game. Other than that, wasn't a great system, but I had a hell of alot of memories playing my Gamecube. Never selling it.

Ya I still got my GC! Its actually been pretty active lately. I've had about 10 game discs out of their boxes on my desk for the last couple of weeks all fighting for me to play them cause its so hard to decide!

I'm curious but what is the deal of selling and rebuying a system numerous times? as far I know, you only lose money that way

It kicks both DDS's ass. In my opinion. Romancing SaGa... maybe but it'd have to be literally the best SaGa ever. Because this makes the GBA games look like shite. Keeps to the tradition of the fab u lous SFC games. I think it might even beat out Dragon Quarter as my Game of the Generation.

Well, as long as you buy FE day one, I can't complain. You know. Personal agendas and all that. Could care less about the Cube itself, but I require more Fire Emblem games in English.

Yes, I do. But unless like I said before this is the ZOMGBESTFAPFAPFAPROMANCINGSAGA EVAR then well... I mean FE beats the tar out of everything else this year. This generation maybe even.

metroid prime may not be to everyones taste, but honestly why the need for a new dynasty warriors every year? what changes? its the same shit every year, boring hack n slash, but hey, if you like it wear it

Guess what they love more.

Nintendo DS. :)

Tales of Symphonia is more than enough reason to own a gamecube.

Actually, playing through that game made it easy to get rid of the GCN. Nice battle system... terrible, terrible RPG overall, imo.

Zelda will be good, I'm sure, but I haven't missed the GCN since it left. In fact, I can't keep up with my PS2 collection as much as I would like...

I was at the Redmond EB and they were building a little play fort out of used Gamecubes. They asked me if I wanted one for $50, and I had to decline.

Fantastic Thread! Really.

you either like it or you don't, this gen I've put more hours in the DW games than any other game

Dragona, Romancing Saga is definitely the best Saga *I've* played, but in the end it's gonna be your call.

I already prepaid for my FE some months ago, so it's all good.

I think there are 3 Gamecube games which are absolutely 100% inarguably worth anyone's time.

1) Pikmin 2
2) Resident Evil 4
3) F-Zero GX

These 3 games are absolutely tops in their genres, and offer challenge, gameplay, graphics, and tons of content.

Like I said, as long as people BUY the game, it's all good. Enjoy it whenever you have a chance, because I know you will.

I wouldn't be against Dynasty Warriors 5 being GOTY. I have sunk more time into that game then any other this year. I can't wait for Xtreme Legends either, looking forward to seeing what they did with the Xtreme Mode this time (My favorite feature of DW4:XL, so addicting, second only to empires) and the new "grow a character from a peon" mode sounds interesting.

I still have my Gamecube. I just sorted my room out finally and set up all my consoles and its sitting rather awkwardly on top of my Xbox. I'm considering packing it away again and putting the Saturn on top of the Xbox instead, since that will sit better.

I only bought a GC when the price plummeted over here in England. I only have 5 games for it, which is the 2nd worst for a console I've owned (I bought a GBA at launch and got fucking BURNED by the uk gba game prices and the shit screen, and only ever had 4 games. Ironically I traded in the GBA for the GC at Gamestation)

I did think randomly that if Zelda is en-route for what, Spring 2006, when is it supposed to appear in Europe? I doubt its a worldwide release.

i still have my cube and it gets a good amount of play time. right now, i'm playing through freedom fighters and fzero gx again. smash brothers still gets playtime too. i will be picking up batallion wars and fire emblem shortly and obviously loz:tp when it ships.

and drinky, normally i ignore your manipulation of the nintendo fanboys, but dissing fzero gx? that's a bit of a stretch... maybe you suck at the game?

I'm about 4 years behind the console curve, so I'm happily picking up some of these GC classics people are selling at dirt cheap prices. Playing through Metroid Prime 2 at the moment, and I'm looking forward to trying out Animal Crossing next. I still have a TON of GC games to play through, so that should hold me over 'till Zelda.

WTF is up with the F-Zero GX hate ? Noobs.

Ontopic : I sold my Gamecube in August. I got 100 Euros for it and bought some Manga for it.

I havent played mine since I beat Paper Mario. I think that was about 6 months ago. Thanks for reminding me Revo is backwards compatable. Looks like I have a console to sell over the weekend.

Nah, I got decent at F-Zero GX, largely because 60fps arcade racers have a sort of lesser-grade isamu-style mesmerization effect on me. In the end, though, I could never escape the idea that I was just mindlessly doing that stupid snaking motion over the video equivalent of those old "games" where you moved a plastic car atop an unwinding spool of printed road -- the game lacked any real feel of inertia or weight, and eventually the utter soullessness of it all caused me to sell it.

I still have mine. I never get rid of consoles, though. (I still have my ColecoVision, two NESes, my SNES, Genisis, N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Xbox.) I have a lot of games for it that I still need to beat, (Viewtiful Joe, Metroid Prime, Pikmin 2, Billy Hatcher, Four Swords, Killer 7, RE4, DKJB, and I haven't even opened VJ2 yet...) and there are quite a few out that I want but can't afford right now. (Geist, Wario World, Battalion Wars, MP2:E, Zelda:TP, Sonic Mega Collection and Gems, Mario Strikers...)

Not to mention I want to get a GBPlayer for it eventually. It's nice that the Rev will be backwards compatable, too. Hopefully once it's out the GCN library will drop in price more.

Still, that sounds hilarious what the EB guys were doing with all the used ones. :lol

Edit: Ah, F-Zero GX. There's a game I haven't and likely never will complete. Fucking story mode... :(

I'm starting to understand Drinky-speak:

Does anyone still actually own a Gamecube? = What GameCube Games are you playing?
Who here's TOTALLY GAY for the GBA Micro? = I can't wait for the PSP Micro.
Why are the bumpkin manchildren embracing the DS? = Come here so I can smack you.

I still have my Cube from May of 2002 and although I don't play it much anymore, it's going nowhere. And for the record, I haven't touched my PS2 or Xbox for a few months either.
