Does EA Have Full Rights To The NFL License?

Just wondering, because it seemed like with the MLB license, 1st parties like Nintendo can still make MLB games since they're not a third party.

Is the EA deal different in this regard?

Take two has the MLB rights.. they're letting Nintendo use them though.. they're letting everyone EXCEPT EA use them :p

Not exactly. My understanding is that the MLB deal had an exception for any first party games.

Take Two isn't letting anyone use anything. They have third-party rights. 1st parites can make all the MLB games they want.

I guess the question I have is... I know the EA deal stretches to all future games, but what about games created beforehand featuring the NFL? They probably can't be updated to have current rosters, but can they still keep their existing rosters and information, or must it be stripped out if those games are ever re-released, say, Tecmo Bowl NES on the Revolution? Because one would think existing games and productions would be grandfathered out.
