It's a revolution, the best game ever, most original game ever, the great gravity gun, the incredible scripted sequences that make you feel like you are gordan freeman etc...

You probably won't like the game anymore in the later bits, I know I didn't.

In my experience, no. HL2 was rather the disappointment. Events so scripted I didn't feel like Gordon Freeman; I felt like an extra in his movie, on the sidelines and unable to really affect anything in the game world. Physics are also haphazardly implemented and the story, after an extremely affecting opening chapter, is bare-bones and unengaging.

They did drag things out a bit too long in several areas. That's ok for Half Life 2 to do, but let someone like Bungie do it and it's a crime against humanity . Half Life 2 picks up big time around 5 hours into it.
