Does Ridge Racer (PSP) lag in wireless play?

Today I was playing Ridge Racer wirelessly with my colleague at work and we had serious problems with lagging. The PSPs were connected ad hoc, I was hosting the game. We both have an US PSP and a copy of Ridge Racer US each.

An example: we both claimed to be leading in the last lap and when the race was over both screens displayed that the current player was the winner. After leaving that screen the menu showed that I was the winner by 0.112 seconds.

Did anybody else experience this problem? Can it be that the IT infrastructure in my office (many PCs connected wirelessly to several WiFi Hotspots) interferes with the performance of the ad hoc connection between our two PSPs? We were sitting at about 1m of distance. Or is it maybe the low battery level of my colleagues PSP to have an impact on the wireless performance?

I don't think ad hoc even uses your wireless hardware...so if you were far apart in your building, maybe that caused the lag?

Well, I dunno, I've never played that game in ad hoc mode. Another suggestion...maybe one of you is using power saving wireless mode and another isn't?

Or maybe there is just a bit of lag heh.

What do you mean with power saving wireless mode? How can I activate/deactivate that? I thought that you can enable wireless by pushing the switch on the left side up and deactivate wireless by pulling it down.

Maybe I should do a little bit of RTFM :D

I think someone else mentioned something like this happening to them way back in another thread around the time of the Japanese launch. If I remember correctly, it was a one time thing, and no one else had experienced. Perhaps the games can get out of sync from time to time and it causes this kind of strangness. There certainly hasn't been a lot of complaints about this happening though.
