Does 8Bitdo Ultimate Wireless controller support gyro aiming on PC?

How do you set up gyro aiming on PC with this particular controller (if even possible):

[I linked the exact model of controller I own, as 8bitdo has like 50 controllers with the same name]

Based on a preliminary web search, it seems like this controller should be able to use gyro aiming on PC, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Looks like the controller has 2.4 Ghz and BT option, I changed it to BT (using the switch on the back of the controller), and updated the controller to the latest firmware.

you could try to use DS4Windows and emulate a Dualshock 4. or just bind the gyro directly to the mouse input.

EDIT:
also make sure it is in the Switch Pro Controller mode. there's a button combo to do it, or use the 8bitdo software to do it.
Steam should detect the gyro if it's in Switch Pro Controller mode.
Xinput mode doesn't have gyro support afaik.

There was beta firmware available for the original ultimate controller that enabled switch mode via the 2.4ghz dongle instead of Bluetooth, however you still lose the analogue triggers because it's 1:1 acting like a switch controller. I'd recommend fishing this out because it has less input lag than Bluetooth. I'll see if I can find it and DM you the link

I think by default it's Y + Start to enable switch mode, but I may be wrong thesedays as I've moved onto using the Ultimate 2.

Thanks for your help.

Seems like it may be easier to just use a dualsense (haven't tried it yet, but seems like that may be the case after doing a cursory Google search).

good info for me as well, thanks!

the dualsense is afaik natively supported by some games like Fortnite, but if you want Gyro in games that don't support it natively, you'll need to use DS4Windows or Steam's controller settings to map a mouse input to your controller.

both the 8bitdo and the Dualsense are basically on par when it comes to doing the non-native gyro to mouse mapping.

I have a 8Bitdo SN30 Pro+ for example that I use occasionally on my PC.

in Switch Pro Controller mode (hold Start + Y when it is off) using DS4Windows.
you can enable mouse emulation by activating this setting here:

(ignore the DualShock 4... that's just what gets displayed for any controller in that program)

and if you only want it on while holding ZL for example, activate this:

and on Steam, again with my SN30 Pro+ set to Switch Pro Controller mode, you go into the controller settings of a game (right click > manage > controller layout)
and enable this:

then you can click the settings on the gyro and map it to only activate when you hold a certain button like ZL
