Doesn't The X-Box 360 Play and Charge Kit Make It...

The wireless controllers are $10 more... why would you ever get a wired controller? You can use 1 play and charge kit... I suppose heh and get a second later on at some point...

Because you want one that's lighter? One of my favorite things about the wired 360 controller is just how light it is. It's nothing like the brick of a controller that comes with the current Xbox (duke or otherwise). While the wireless one isn't a ton heavier, there is certainly a difference. After using the wired controller extensively at the NY media event, I'm considering picking one up at launch for regular use.

The weight of the controller is not of concern. It is extremely light. If you have heled any of the logitec wireless pads it is MUCH lighter then them.

Does anyone know for sure if the controller that comes with the premium pack has a rechargeable battery? My Gamestop again assured me tonight that the one in the premium pack comes with a rechargeable battery and that the recharge pack is for people who don't want to lose any play time. I asked him how I would charge it and he said it will have a cable that can plug it into the 360 for recharge. I told him he was talking about the Recharge Pack. He disagreed. I reserved a recharge pack, but DAMN MS needs to get better info to the retailers and Gamestop needs to train their employees better.

NEVERMIND. Here is the product description from Gamestop's Website:

High-performance wireless gaming is here! Using optimized technology, the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller lets you enjoy a 30-foot range and up to 40 hours of life on two AA batteries—and when they run low, you're given ample warning so you can connect a Play & Charge cable for uninterrupted play. Plug the Xbox 360 Headset into the controller for full duplex voice communication: a wireless first. With quick access to Xbox 360 features including DVDs, music, pictures, and more, along with the ability to support four wireless controllers simultaneously, gamers can experience wireless freedom, precision, high quality, and performance for endless gameplay.
