Unlocked: RetroAchievements Come to Dolphin

Dolphin's users are always looking for new ways to play their favorite games. And when a project called "RetroAchievements" started gaining popularity for adding achievements into retro games, users started wondering if Dolphin would ever add support for the project. Unfortunately for them...

Retoachievements are now available for Gamecube via Dolphin. You'll need the latest development build for them to show up in the "Tools" menu.

This is really cool. I wish they worked on my saturn and dreamcast games though.

I didn't really need a reason to revisit my GC and Wii collection, but this is a super duper welcome addition to one of the best emulators out there. I haven't looked at any game lists or anything yet, but I'm sure there's some nice challenges in there. Fucking sweet.

What Retroarch cores are you using? BeetleSaturn works for me, and Flycast both the retroarch core and standalone work fine too

I get a "game could not be identified" error with DC and saturn games.

Maybe the file format of your roms. Dreamcast .CDI roms are modified from the original and usually won't be recognised by retroachievements. You need either GDI or CUE/BIN. Also needs to match the region too, usually USA for DC/Saturn

Ahh okay, The MD5 checksum for each game needs to match the same on the games page on retroacheivements - If they don't it'll throw up that error. I use compressed CHDs for Saturn / Dreamcast and they seem to work fine, so it could be something to do with that if you are compressing them or it could be a case of bad rips
